A happy side effect of being a soakless pedicurist is that the services take about 10 minutes less time on average and clean up is faster too!

Thanks to all who encouraged me to switch to this method, and a special thanks to Hope Goldman | Waterless Pedicure Expert for her training and friendship.

Now that I've got the process down, I have time to add another appointment in my day. 😊

*not my client*

This type of comment is PREVALENT in nail tech circles. And the answer is - NONE!

Once you develop an allergy to the ingredients in gel/acrylic/polish - you will always react. 😩

This is why I have chosen to help people just like her, along with hundreds of others who require help rehabbing their nails, or those wishing for a natural alternative.

It is possible to have beautiful, healthy, natural nails without having to use layers of gel to "protect" them.

I have made a living using natural products to fully restore the health of the nails.

Not only does it protect me from nasty chemicals, but it nourishes my clients' nails and leaves them feeling gorgeous.

Win-win.

In this season of my life, I am finding it difficult to concentrate on the people and places that require my love, attention, and devotion.

Most of that distraction is caused by my terrible habit of scrolling....which leads to comparison...which leads to feelings of insufficiency...which leads to feelings of hopelessness. It's all part of the devil's plan, and I fall right into it every time.

So, my blinders are going up. My focus will solely be on God and family, then work.

I will be here looking only at pages that inspire and make me laugh.

If you are a nail tech, I am muting your page for a time. Not because what you say and do is wrong or bad. Only because I need to stay focused, and I don't trust myself to not condemn myself in some way.

My brain was wired as a youth that I am inadequate. I am not worthy. I am never enough. I heard it all my life in one form or another from the people who were supposed to be protecting me. And it is extremely hard to rewire those thoughts.

As a result, my striving to "prove my worth" has led me in decision-making all my life (except with marriage, but I still expect my husband to realize the mistake he made, 20 years later), and even though I have succeeded in many areas, I still find it's never enough. (Cue mantra from my youth)

So, in these coming months, I will be working on deepening my relationship with Jesus and totally surrendering to His will for me, and being a support system for my husband and children. I will remember that my work is a joyful service to others and be present for my clients. And that WILL BE ENOUGH.

I think it was smart to wait to do this in 90 degrees and 90% humidity😅😅

But it looks way better!!

Simply turning the hand around and re-evaluating your filing can reveal high sides and shape inconsistencies that you missed with the hand laying flat.

This is a step I learned as an apprentice, and I've never seen any other nail techs do it since.

What do you think? Is it necessary or overkill?

The more I simplify my menu, the better life gets for everyone.

Choose high-quality products that perform and heal.

Toxins are real. Toxicity is a thing. All-natural is better than acrylics.

That's my opinion. I will doe on this hill.

Does that mean no one should do acrylics or gel? No.

Does that mean that acrylic and gel is inherently bad or wrong?
No.

We all have preferences and I like mine. You can like yours and we can peacefully coexist.

God bless you.

I don't really have a message except to just reiterate that what you put on your feet matters.

It starts in childhood, and then by your 30s or 40s, you really start to feel the effects of cramming your feet into shoes that make absolutely no sense.

Free your feet from these foot coffins ( i.e. shoes where feet go to die)!

Me chilling at home barefoot.

I never wear shoes inside, and almost never wear socks (unless my feet are freezing, in which case I wear big, fuzzy socks).

Why?

Because foot health also includes strength, mobility, and alignment.

If you're constantly cramming your piggies into tight, oval-shaped shoes when your feet are not actually shaped that way, guess what? You're going to have deformed feet and pain.

It's really that simple.

Stop shoving your precious feet into foot coffins.

Free your feet!!

I have gotten away from the true mission of my life, and that is to use my gifts to serve others.

Whether that is at home or in work, the goal is always to glorify God by serving others with joy and humility.

Getting wrapped up in chasing a number has only led to internal discourse, external discourse, regret, and turmoil.

This is why Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life - He is wise beyond anything I could ever conjure, His ways will always lift you up, He will fill you with life and not leave you empty and drowning.

I admit I am extremely flawed and imperfect. My past informs my decisions more often than I'd like to admit, and that can lead to poor outcomes that not only hurt me, but hurt and anger others. I hope to never make mistakes, but I do...because I am human.

Instead of trying to be controversial to get views, I will focus only on serving others, just as Jesus has instructed us to do (John 13: 13-17).

Have a blessed day, my friends.

Keep Jesus in your heart.❤️
