Taper vs. Fade 💈

A lot of people use these terms interchangeably, but they’re not the same haircut.

A taper only cleans up the edges—around the neckline and sideburns—while keeping the rest of your hair at its natural length. It’s subtle, professional, and grows out clean.

A fade gradually blends the hair from very short (or even skin) higher up the sides and back. It creates a bolder, more noticeable contrast and can be customized as a low, mid, or high fade.

Quick rule:
✂️ Taper = clean edges
✂️ Fade = blended sides

Low taper mid cut on straight hair

Today for Lunch I ate at Japanese restaurant and I got a chicken katsudon. This is one of my favorite dishes. It’s a katsu dipped in egg served over rice and onions with pickled ginger. Delicious.
