I found this interesting and wanted to share.
New research on long-term Botox use for chronic migraine is worth paying attention to.
Researchers followed women receiving Botox for chronic migraine. After 1 year or more of treatment, 75% reported neuromuscular side effects — compared to only 10% of first-time patients.
The most commonly reported issues included:
• Eyelid droop (ptosis)
• Double vision
• Shoulder weakness
• Swallowing problems
The researchers concluded that repeated Botox injections were associated with persistent neuromuscular alterations and recommended ongoing monitoring during long-term treatment.
Knowledge is power. Whether you’re considering treatment for migraines or aesthetics, understanding both the benefits and potential long-term effects helps you make the best decision for your body.
