3 Quick Hair Extension Maintenance Tips

It doesn't have to be hard!

01. When brushing, start at the bottom of your hair and work your way up. Gently brush at the base, where the extensions are attached. Make sure you use a brush specifically made for hair extensions.

02. Use a hair mask at least 1x a week. Apply on the mids and ends. Most masks are left on between 5 and 20 minutes.

03. Satin pillowcases and even scrunchies are amazing for your extensions as well as your natural hair. They cause less friction which equals less breakage and less frizz.

My client at the time had some serious breakage from covid and the previous color (done by another stylist). She was looking for an extensionist to help. I was not her first consultation but we ended up vibing and she decided to proceed with me!

The 2nd photo was taken mid-application.

We did wefts and keratin extensions for the best blend possible.

The last photo is after we styled my lovely client.

Maintenance on weft extensions is every 6-8 weeks.

Keratin extensions need to be removed every 3-4 months. After removing the old extensions, we would apply new keratin extensions at that appointment.
