High arches never flatten or touch the ground even when you put your weight on them. Walking put more stress in other parts of the foot.

High arch can cause foot pain specially in the ball or heel, ankle pain or sweet.

Overtime you may develop corns and calluses on the part of the foot that takes more pressure, inward curling toes. Some people develop metatarsalgia, plantar fasciitis or peroneal tendonitis.

This client presented with nail plate dystrophy, including yellow discoloration, thickening, irregular distal edges, and areas of onycholysis (separation of the nail plate from the nail bed).

Changes like these can have several possible causes, including repeated trauma, pressure from footwear, aging, certain medical conditions, or infection. Appearance alone is not enough to diagnose the cause, which is why staying within our scope and referring when appropriate is so important.

My focus was to safely reduce excess length and thickness, clean the surrounding nail structures, improve comfort and appearance, and educate the client on proper home care and follow-up.
