Last week, the Seminole County Chamber Board of Directors were hosted by Seminole State College for a mini-retreat and social. During the event they were able to experience the Planetarium, and a special performance by students in the La Petit Theater!
Thank you, Seminole State College, for hosting our Board and showing them some of the unique things available on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus! Most importantly, thank you to our board members for your leadership and support of the Chamber!

At last weekās Seminole County Chamberās Professional Womenās Luncheon, Tanya Hill, Market President for the Central Florida Region at Florida Blue, spoke about creating a personal āboard of directors,ā surrounding yourself with women who challenge you, guide you, advocate for you, and make room for who you are becoming.
Iāve been incredibly fortunate to find so many of those women through the Seminole County Chamber. Their encouragement, perspective, connections, and belief in me have helped shape the woman and leader I am today in ways I probably donāt say often enough. I would be honored to one day add a mentor like Tanya to my own personal board of directors. Her leadership and the way she spoke about women lifting and guiding one another as we grow was truly inspiring.
Then she asked us to imagine the woman we were five years ago walking into the room and seeing us today.
What would she be proud of? What would surprise her? And what would the woman youāll be five years from now want you to have the courage to do today?
That resonated so deeply with me.
Five years ago, I had just left my career at AdventHealth and stepped into an entirely new world in pharmacy sales. I was learning a new industry, finding my footing, and had no idea that path would eventually lead me to building Primera Specialty Infusion, advocating for patients, and working to create greater access to specialty care in my community.
I could never have imagined then the woman I would become, the incredible women who would become part of my own personal board of directors, or the rooms I would eventually have the courage to walk into.
I know the woman I was five years ago would be so proud.
And maybe that day was a small example of answering that question in real time. Five years ago, Iām not sure I would have had the confidence to walk up to a woman I admired, introduce myself, share what I was building, and simply start the conversation.
The woman I am today did.
And I know the woman Iāll be five years from now is counting on me to keep having the courage to walk up, introduce myself, and start the conversations that could shape what comes next. š«¶
