My mother taught me this lesson as a child: don’t get mad about someone else’s stuff. It belongs to them, and they can do with it what they wish.

And that goes beyond possessions. Other people’s time, friendship and personal space belong to them too. Respecting that can save us from unnecessary disappointment and resentment.

Another sunflower has bloomed and the garden is doing beautifully. 🌻 And apparently, we have a new backyard resident. This little hummingbird stays around so much that I try to move carefully and not disturb him.

I treat him delicately like he pays rent. 😂🐦

A little consideration goes a long way. 💛

When someone asks you to RSVP, please respond—even if the answer is no. The hostess needs to know how many people are coming so she can prepare accordingly.

Hosting takes time, money and effort. Let’s make it easier by simply responding in a timely manner.

I thought I was completely ready to tackle the bugs outside. Protective clothes? ✔️ Gloves? ✔️ Sprayer? ✔️ Water in the sprayer? Umm…😂 No matter how prepared you are, there’s always that one thing you forget.

The garden is looking good today.🌻 My sunflower is growing, the zinnias are doing well, and everything has already had a good drink of water. But I noticed something about my cosmos… why do the leaves look different from each other? 🤔🌿 Garden friends, what do you think is going on?

I’m learning that succulents really don’t need as much water as I thought.🌱 Today I’m moving this one over and taking a closer look at a tiny jade plant that has me thinking. Garden lessons are definitely teaching me patience.

Checking on my next pot of zinnias on the back patio. They’ve been watered, but this sun is showing absolutely no mercy. ☀️🌸 I see why people have greenhouses now.

Mystery solved.😂 I found the grasshopper who’s been eating my zinnias and on the same day, I got my very first sunflower bloom. A little garden drama with a happy ending. 🌻💛
