A salon appointment isn’t just a service. It’s reserved TIME.
When you book an appointment, that time is removed from our schedule and held specifically for you.
So when you try to reschedule the same day, or even the day before, it isn’t as simple as just moving your appointment to another date. That time has already been unavailable to everyone else. Someone who looked at our schedule earlier in the week may have wanted that exact day and time, but couldn’t book it because you had it secured.
By the time you cancel or reschedule, we may not have enough time to fill that opening.
That is lost income.
And no shows are even worse. Not showing up at all, without giving us the opportunity to offer that time to another guest, is disrespectful to the professional whose time was reserved for you.
This is exactly why ALEVAN has a cancellation policy that every guest is required to acknowledge and sign.
When you place a card on file and agree to our policy, you are authorizing us to charge that card when the cancellation policy is violated.
The charge is not for the service you received. You didn’t receive a service.
It is for the TIME we reserved for you and could no longer sell to someone else.
Service providers cannot restock an unused 10:00 appointment and sell it tomorrow. Once that time passes, it is gone.
Our policy isn’t personal, punitive, or meant to be harsh. It is one of the few ways an appointment based business can protect the time and income of the professionals who showed up prepared to serve you.
We absolutely understand that life happens. But when life happens at the last minute, the financial loss shouldn’t automatically fall on the business.
Please respect the time you reserve.
