Hair AND nails!
Same location - different services! Now welcoming Mariah of to Texturology!
Mariah has her own little nook within Texturology for manicures, nail art and pedicures. She is her own business and her hours are outside of my salon hours.
Which means our 1:1 time doesn't change! I am still providing private, personal time with my clients and so is she. Please welcome her by tagging her in comments.
She is happy to take appointments so feel free to reach out either online or via the phone number I provided.
This is an exciting addition to my space and I am eagerly looking forward to this cooperative relationship and addition. 🥰
Welcome Mariah!

Can you guess the service being given space within Texturology?
Yes.... I am sharing my space! Trust me..even I am surprised. 😅
I started Texturology wanting to create a private space, a 1:1 connection between me, you and your hair. And that hasn't changed. Our time is still our time.
But when I am not there - someone else will be providing a service which I personally was already using - and that I am sure you will be thrilled about!
But first, let's see if you can guess it! Comment below what service you think I made room for?

Which one are you? 😄
Looking for a better diffuser that is lightweight, has a mostly universal fit, decreases frizz, time and uses mess heat?
I got the one for you now at Texturology!
This transformation was a year in the making!
It may seem small, but it took a lot of choices from her around medication, diet and supplements and myself about cut, color and hair products to use. She tried hair thinning oroducts originally but the issue was in her body health, not hormonal exactly.
But her hair is on the mend to regrowing and she finally got the PB&J she wanted!

Which one of these do you feel the most?
What are the 3 hardest decisions you will make about your hair?
Which color?
Which hairstyle?
Highlights?
Which products to use?
No.
The three hardest decisions around your hair are:
1) Should I wait to get the style and color I want?
If you know your hair is damaged, thinning, and just not looking healthy, choosing to wait until you have it in a better state, is hard. It doesn't have to mean having hair that looks bad in the meanwhile. But it may mean adding chemicals may not be the best option right now.
It may mean that trying to grow it long, may require some hair restructuring.
Or it may mean you need to look at medication, health, lifestyle etc. that is effecting your hair.
2). Should I get it cut
This isn't about a simple haircut or even changing from long to short hair because a. pixie sounds cute and fun. It's about choosing healthy hair over damaged ends. Choosing to give your hair a fresh start without the baggage of damage so it can grow better, stronger and healthier.
3) Changing hairdressers.
Many of you know staying with the same hairdresser who while being a nice person, perhaps isn't giving you the treatment you need is hard to do. Even worse, is going from hairdresser to hairdresser because no one seems to "get you" and your hair. I know many of you have come from that place. Continuing to try and find someone, feels disheartening, frustrating and an endless pursuit.
Give yourself some time. Take a break if you must, but keep trying. When you find the right one for you...It will be life changing!

With all the wonderful things Autumn brings, apparently the start of longer locks belongs on that list!
Yes, in Autumn and Winter, women tend to let their hair grow...and want less hair routine.
Why is this?
For starters, longer hair makes for an excellent "natural scarf" and body heat insulation from cooler and windier weather.
Longer hair looks great with sweaters, higher collars, scarves, hats, etc.
Easier to hide hair transitions of growth, color/highlights, or wanting a new style and need more length.
Also, there's the summer healing from sun, chlorine and products.
As for less demanding hair care? Balancing children in school, weather challenges, holidays, and just that overall winter slump... we all want easier routines.
If this is you, and you plan on growing out your hair, you may need a new hair routine to keep those strands strong and moisturized through the dry, winter months.
Tell me your plans , we'll develop a low maintenance but effective care routine for the newly acquired long locks.
Creating YOUR color formula is a unique process to your hair. Nope..one size does not fit all!
First, we look at what you want, the condition of your hair and if theres any greys to cover or odd discoloration.
Then I match your base color and possibly move up or down depending on what we are doing.
Then, it's about what pigments are needed to reach the color you want in comparison to where you are now.
Sometimes that means bleaching, sometimes it means adding a shade that seems unusual, like say a purple blend, to offset another color in your hair.
The idea is reach as close as possible to your desired color while still blending in, or with your existing highlights and lowlights so it all comes together looking as natural as possible.
Fall hair trends beginning!
Using an all over color doesnt have to be a flat wall of color. Your natural light areas can add the dimension that makes the color look more natural and blended.
