The Black Moon beauty parlor

So many of you have asked for salon updates, especially my sweet clients, and I’m finally ready to share this next chapter! 🖤

Sometimes God’s plan looks a little different from the vision we had for ourselves. Even blessings can come with obstacles, but I’m choosing to trust His timing and follow where He leads.

My original plan was to build a little “she shed” salon on our new property. As we worked through the details, the timing, approaching season changes, and construction timeline brought more challenges than we anticipated.

One day, while driving through Brookston, I jokingly told my husband, “Maybe I should just lease one of these cute little places instead. It would probably be easier!” 😂 None seemed to be available, but as we were leaving town, we spotted a leasing sign. He encouraged me to call and at least explore my options.

Opening my own salon has always been a dream of mine, but years ago, the timing wasn’t right. My heart was focused on being a new mom and being present for my babies. Now they’re off to school, life looks a little different, and there’s room for that dream to grow again.

So I made the call, and I prayed: “God, if this is Your will, please open the doors and guide my steps. Help me be still enough to hear You and trust where You’re leading me.”

This weekend, I got the keys to my new little salon space on the corner of 3rd Street, right in the heart of charming Brookston! We immediately got to work, pouring love into the space and making it my own. My hope is to open the doors to The Black Moon Beauty Parlor on November 1st! 🖤✨

After 16 years of doing hair—and nearly 10 years without accepting new clients—I’m so excited to announce that I’ll be opening my books to new clients this winter!

To my lovely, loyal clients: I would be so grateful to have you follow me on this journey. Your love and support have helped make this dream possible, and I can’t wait to welcome you into a space that feels like home. While you’re visiting, I hope you’ll enjoy some of the sweet little shops that make Brookston so special, too.

My heart is full of gratitude as I step into this new chapter, trusting God’s timing and the path He has placed before me. 🤍

I’ve spent lots of time taking girlies from BLACK to blonde, chopping off hair , doing fun colors & making the best memories with my clients. After 16 years of hair … I’m excited to expand my journey & start something new soon ❤️

For a name like The Black Moon Beauty Parlor, I’d interpret it as:

* 🖤 Beauty in darkness — embracing the mysterious, unconventional, imperfect, and unique.
* ✨ Hidden potential — just because something can’t be seen yet doesn’t mean it isn’t growing.
* 🌙 Cycles & change — life moves through seasons, and darkness isn’t permanent.
* ⚡ Power & individuality — especially with the vintage rock-and-roll look of your logo, “Black Moon” feels rebellious, feminine, and a little mysterious.

👀Can you believe she has now worn tape in extensions - CONSECUTIVELY FOR OVER 5years. Her hair is actually better than it was before we started. She has always struggled with fine thin hair. She loves having a little more natural thickness with these 12” extensions 🖤
