Ember Glow Therapy

TRIGGER WARNING.

But this is a topic that I as a practitioner/small business owner/woman cannot be silent about.

This is a very real concern for every single therapist you know. It does happen. And it’s traumatizing beyond belief. The jokes aren’t funny, they just let the people closest to you know that you don’t take us seriously.

At Ember Glow Therapy we take safety for all parties involved as seriously as humanly possible. I will not tolerate any action in my office space that even remotely involves inappropriate behavior/conduct. That clock starts from the very first interaction.

As an industry there has been more conversation on how to protect the therapists from “clients” such as these. I’m saddened it’s taken so long to get the conversation going but at least we are finally having it. Open your ears, hear the words we as service providers are saying. Take us seriously, bc you know what happens next? No more massage therapists. Bc in a industry where everyone thinks it’s funny to joke about situations like this, the amount of inappropriate messages/comments you receive during your career, and the fact that there’s basically no support from our State Boards, no one wants to continue. And that’s a really sad thing because healing touch is FUNDAMENTAL to the human experience. People like this are gonna make damn sure it goes away.
