If you’ve been thinking about doing something more corrective for your skin, now is the time to get it on the calendar.
October marks the beginning of the season when we can start planning treatments around:
👉🏻 pigmentation
👉🏻 acne
👉🏻 texture
👉🏻 fine lines
and other concerns you’ve been wanting to work on
And you do not need to know which peel to book before you come in.
That decision can be made based on:
⭐ your skin
⭐ your goals
⭐ your home routine
⭐ your tolerance for downtime
and what’s coming up on your calendar
So if “I should probably do something about my skin this fall” has been floating around in your head…
This is your reminder to actually make the appointment.
🗓 Book the time. We’ll help build the plan. 🤍

“Okay, but how much am I actually going to peel?”
This is probably one of the most common questions we get about chemical peels.
And the answer is:
It depends on the peel.
Some lighter peels can leave your skin looking fresh and glowy with little to no visible peeling.
Other, more corrective peels can cause noticeable flaking or sloughing, sometimes over a 7–14-day process.
That doesn’t mean you’ll be dramatically peeling every single day for two weeks. It means your skin may move through different stages of dryness, flaking, and renewal during that window.
The important part?
Tell us what your real life looks like.
If you have:
📸 family photos next weekend
💒 a wedding coming up
👩🏻💼 a work event
🌴 a vacation
or you simply do not want visible peeling right now
…we need to know that.
We can help choose a peel that makes sense for your skin and your schedule.
Because the goal isn’t to give everyone the strongest treatment possible.
The goal is to give you the right treatment at the right time.

A better peel starts before you ever get on the treatment table.
How you care for your skin leading up to a corrective treatment matters. 💕
We want your skin hydrated, protected and supported, not irritated from over-exfoliating or throwing every active at it the week before.
A few things we want clients to keep in mind before a peel:
👉🏻 Keep your skin hydrated. Moisturize consistently and support a healthy skin barrier.
👉🏻 Wear SPF every day. Yes, even in October.
👉🏻 Use your recommended pigment support. Depending on your skin, this may include a tyrosinase inhibitor or Vitamin C before treatment.
👉🏻 Pause certain active products. The Spa generally recommends stopping retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, and exfoliating acids like salicylic or glycolic acid about 5–7 days before your peel.
👉🏻 Plan around other treatments. Avoid waxing or laser hair removal in the treatment area for about a week beforehand, and be sure to tell us about recent Botox, filler, or other procedures.
And most importantly:
👏🏻 Ask us if you’re unsure.
Your exact prep can vary depending on your skin and the peel you’re receiving, so we would much rather answer a question than have you guess.

Chemical peels aren’t just about getting a glow. 🌟
Depending on the peel your esthetician chooses, they can be used to help improve the appearance of several different skin concerns.
That includes:
☑ Pigmentation + discoloration - To help improve uneven-looking tone and visible sun damage.
☑ Acne + post-acne marks - Including options specifically suited to acne-prone skin.
☑ Texture + scarring- To help smooth the look and feel of uneven skin.
☑ Fine lines + signs of aging -By supporting skin renewal and a fresher-looking surface.
☑ Dullness- When your skin looks tired and needs more than another moisturizer.
That’s also why choosing the right peel matters more than simply deciding you want “a chemical peel.”
At The Spa, we now have multiple corrective options, including GlyMed+ peels and our new Mixi Skincare line, giving us more flexibility for concerns like acne, adult acne, pigmentation, texture, and aging.
The goal is not the strongest peel.
It’s the right treatment for your skin.

CHEMICAL PEEL MYTH:
“If I get a peel, my face is going to shed for a week.” 😱
Reality: not necessarily.
Chemical peels come in different strengths, and the amount of visible peeling can vary a lot depending on the treatment.
Some lighter peels can leave your skin looking fresh and glowy with little to no visible peeling.
More corrective peels may cause noticeable flaking or sloughing over several days.
That’s why there isn’t one universal “chemical peel experience.”
The right peel depends on:
➡ your skin
➡ your concerns
➡ your treatment history
➡ your barrier health
➡ and how much downtime actually works for your life
So if visible peeling has been the thing keeping you from even considering a peel, don’t automatically count yourself out.
There may be a much gentler option than you’re picturing. 💙

Why does everyone start talking about chemical peels when the weather cools down?
It isn’t just a fall skincare trend.
After a peel, your skin needs extra protection from UV exposure while it heals and renews.
And during fall and winter, it’s usually much easier to do that.
We’re spending less time at the pool.
There are fewer long afternoons outside.
Vacations, lake days and summer sports aren’t taking over every weekend.
That makes the cooler months a much easier time to commit to corrective skincare and actually protect the progress we’re making.
It’s also perfect timing because this is when many of us start noticing what summer left behind:
pigmentation, uneven tone, acne, texture, fine lines and dullness.
So instead of only maintaining the skin, fall gives us an opportunity to start asking:
🤔 What do we actually want to improve?
That’s what corrective treatment season is really about.

Peel season is officially here. 👀
And if the words chemical peel immediately make you picture red, shedding skin and hiding in your house for two weeks...
We have some explaining to do. 😂
There isn’t just one kind of chemical peel.
Some are lighter treatments designed to refresh the skin with little to no visible peeling.
Others are more corrective and can involve several days of flaking or sloughing.
The right one depends on your skin, what you want to improve, and how much downtime makes sense for your life.
And this time of year gives us the perfect opportunity to start getting more intentional about concerns like:
• pigmentation
• acne + post-acne marks
• uneven texture
• fine lines
• dullness
So all week, we’re taking some of the mystery out of chemical peels.
What they actually do.
Who they’re for.
What downtime really looks like.
And how to know where to start.
Welcome to peel season. ✨

You don’t need to build a 10-step routine or book the most aggressive treatment to start improving your skin.
Corrective skincare works best when the plan actually fits you.
That might mean:
👉🏻 A brightening serum at home.
👉🏻 Daily SPF.
👉🏻 A customized facial.
👉🏻 ProCell.
👉🏻 A future chemical peel.
Or simply sitting down with an esthetician and figuring out what makes sense first.
The goal is not to do everything.
The goal is to do the right things consistently.
If pigmentation, uneven tone, texture, or sun damage are starting to bother you, this is a great time to start the conversation.
Come in with your concerns. We’ll help build the plan.

If you’ve ever walked into The Spa and immediately felt taken care of, there’s a very good chance Crystal has something to do with that.
She’s the owner, the leader behind the team, and genuinely one of the kindest people you could ever meet.
Crystal has been a licensed esthetician since 2006, but her path into skincare started long before that.
Growing up and into young adulthood, she struggled with acne herself. That experience is a huge part of what led her into esthetics and why education has always been such an important part of the way she treats clients.
She didn’t just want to help people feel better about their skin.
She wanted to understand why certain concerns happen and how to treat them thoughtfully.
Over the years, that passion has grown into a deep knowledge of concerns like acne, hyperpigmentation, aging skin, sensitive skin, rosacea, and other skin conditions.
Today, Crystal provides facials, dermaplaning, ProCell Microchanneling, chemical peels, Korean Skincare corrective treatments, DermaLuxx treatments, and facial and body waxing.
But what really sets her apart isn’t just the list of services she offers.
It’s the way she cares about people.
She leads with kindness, teaches without judgment, and has created a space where clients can ask questions, learn about their skin, and feel genuinely supported.
That heart is a huge part of what makes The Spa what it is.
We’re starting a little series so you can get to know the women behind The Spa better, and there was no better place to start than Crystal. 🤍

Sometimes skincare alone can only take you so far.
A good home routine is incredibly important.
It can help brighten, hydrate, support your barrier and protect your skin from future damage.
But professional treatments are designed to work differently.
They can target concerns at a level your daily cleanser and serum simply cannot.
At The Spa, one corrective option is ProCell Microchanneling.
It may be recommended for concerns like:
→ hyperpigmentation
→ sun damage
→ fine lines
→ enlarged pores
→ uneven texture
→ dull-looking skin
The point isn’t to replace your home care.
It’s to make professional treatment and home care work together. 🙌🏻
Your appointment does the deeper work.
Your routine helps support and protect the results.
And as we move further into fall, we’ll be talking a lot more about corrective treatments and what might be appropriate for your skin.
