Limited Edition Perfume Release: BLACKCURRANT

In European folklore, blackcurrants are known as an elixir of long life and protection from evil spirits. This perfume has a tart, vibrant opening of raspberry, grapefruit, and bergamot. A backdrop of jammy florals and crushed poplar buds introduce the moody, dark base of pure blackcurrant fruit. Over time it settles into an oaky, deep-red essence of dried berries.

This one is is named for a natural material that inspired an entire formula of 20+ other accents notes built around it. Aged for months to smooth out the depth and complexity, and ready for a seasonal shift.

DIANTHUS

Otherwise known as carnation, this bloom is in our opinion one of the most underrated of the florals. This accord recreates the dark coumaric heart of the ribboned petals with its signature hint of clove and rose-like depth.

This is another one based on a limited edition I made years ago. Although similar to that formula, this one is darker and a higher concentration. So far our in-store customers are loving it.

This limited edition perfume is a tribute to a place that has become a second home to me, yet will always feel like an alternate reality.

THE OZARKS is a region of caves, forests, mountains, and springs. But to be here requires a half-feral intuition and a will to self-preserve. This scent captures the quiet threat of a hunter in the woods, vultures overhead, and ominous storms approaching. A base of hay bales, to***co, and limestone is haunted with crystal clear spring water and sweet hints of Sassafras. A wound in the bark of a Shortleaf pine releases aromatic resin - a warning that you are among the wild here.

The Limited Edition perfume release is on Tuesday’s new moon. This is a theme that is based on a place that is both very familiar to me and yet always feels like an alternate dimension. The scent is inspired by cold spring water against wild mountains and forests. I love making water scents, one of my specialties.

Ash has been working with us for TEN YEARS, beginning as an illustration artist and then quickly taking over as designer. Ash brings a delicate structure and soft gothic mood to every detail. And if you know her, you know this mysterious perfection is imprinted in everything she touches. Her Chicago apartment, her Ikebana arrangements, her black cats snuggled into her layers of black clothing, and her Japanese roots surfacing throughout her nature-inspired style.

Soon we will also be re-releasing the Botanical Oracle deck, featuring 53 illustrations Ash originally created for our limited edition lunar perfumes.
We can’t wait for you to see the re-vamped packaging.

Happy friendaversary/workaversary to a muse -and- artist 🖤

This organic vanilla absolute has been aged for 17 years and we refined it into a smooth, easy to roll on dilution. The caramelized indulgence melds beautifully into other scents or alone imprints the skin with a gourmande Crème brûlée warmth.

We don’t know how long we will be able to source this particular batch of vanilla and will eventually switch to fresh extractions but it is nice to have something so dark and smoothed around the edges in an aged oil.

This is one of our many attempts to recapture the late 90’s. A soft, black micro rib baby tee with Ash’s stunning ladyslipper orchid design printed in silver shimmer ink.

Our preference for a true-to-life sensory experience does not end with the perfume. We do not use AI to generate our imagery and everything you see from us is a real photograph or hand-drawn illustration. Every word on our website, newsletter, and media is personally written by Jill, the perfumer. Every email is carefully read and thoughtfully responded to by Tara and original designs are created by Ash. We do not find AI technology to be a replacement for art, style, design, or communication. We hope you recognize the immense effort it requires to maintain this and ask that you appreciate the slower nature of receiving responses directly from us.
