Ya girl has been in her teacher bag lately! šš§”
From teaching Fascia Stretch & Release classes to teaching Therapeutic Yoga, Iāve genuinely enjoyed every opportunity to share the gift of self-massage, movement, and mind-body connection.
If you needed a sign, here it is: grab you a set of Tune Up Fitness balls and hit the ground! š
And just to be clearāthis is not foam rolling.
This is a form of pin and stretch, where we use the ball to apply pressure to a targeted area while moving a part of the body through its range of motion. That combination of pressure and movement can help you explore areas of tension while encouraging the muscles and surrounding tissues to soften, move, and feel more spacious.
Itās not about aggressively rolling everything out. Itās about slowing down, paying attention, and creating a little more connection between your body and your brain.
Because sometimes your body doesnāt need you to beat it up⦠it needs you to actually listen to it. š§”
And THAT is the kind of self we all need!!!
Thank you NHR Regenerative Med for the opportunity to teach this class to your clients it was truly a honor.
Iām just a girl from the Northside of Houstonš¤š¾,
With a slight addiction to trap music. šš¶
On my way to work? Iām in the car vibing out with my cup.āļø
Itās my daily ritual. Depending on my mood, it may change, but know it will always be something with a heavy bass. Iām always knocking like I have two 15s in the trunk. This is me grounding myself in my energy before I spend the day holding space for everyone else.
Then I walk into the studio, take a deep breath⦠and intentionally set the vibe with softer soul-tree music with a hint of bass or the oldies!! No spa music around here. šāāļø
Now tell me, āHowās your body feeling today?ā š
Two completely different versions of me.
Both equally authentic.
Anyone else have a ābefore-workā playlist that would completely surprise people? š
Side note: Hereās proof that I know exactly what yāall experience from meāand trust me, I have compassion. š
This is me working on me whenever my body is asking for a little extra attention.
As a bodyworker, Iāve learned to pay attention to what my body is asking for because, yes⦠the bodyworker needs bodywork too. š¤
It doesnāt replace seeing another bodyworker for my monthly maintenance, but it definitely helps me in the meantime, between time.
Because sometimes you have to stop, check in, and give your own body a little love.
Tell me Iām not the only one out here treating myself like a whole damn client. š
A little education moment from your friendly neighborhood LMT. š¤
If youāve ever called me a masseuse, no worriesāyou probably didnāt know.
But hereās why most of us prefer Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) or simply massage therapist.
We donāt just give massages.
We complete hundreds of hours of education, pass licensing requirements, complete continuing education, and spend years learning anatomy, physiology, pathology, kinesiology, pain science, and hands-on therapeutic techniques to safely care for our clients.
The term āmasseuseā has become outdated and, over time, has also been associated with services that donāt reflect the professionalism or healthcare role of licensed massage therapists.
So the next time you refer to your favorite bodyworker, try:
- Bodyworker
- Massage Therapist
- Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT)
Itās a small change that shows respect for the education, skill, and professionalism behind what we do.
Now Iām curious⦠did you already know the difference, or is this your first time hearing it? š
Social media gets the polished version⦠hereās everything that didnāt make the cut. š
If youāve ever wondered what filming content actually looks like, itās a whole lot of laughing at myself, forgetting what I was going to say, awkward pauses, and starting over⦠again.
The funny thing is, I almost didnāt post these.
But perfection isnāt the goalāconnection is.
So hereās your reminder that itās okay to mess up, laugh it off, and keep going. Sometimes the bloopers are the best part. š¤
Now tell me⦠are you team ānailed it on the first takeā or team ā37 takes laterā? š
š
ā¦unless youāre a sports massage therapist whoās about to help someone finally move without pain.
Some of my clients jokingly call me a sadist because they swear I enjoy my work a little too much. š The moment that scraper comes out, they know itās game over, Iām about to get to work.
The truth? I donāt enjoy causing discomfort. I enjoy helping people get results.
Sports massage and soft tissue mobilization can feel intense while weāre working through stubborn trigger points, scar tissue, and restricted fascia. But when itās done with purpose, that temporary discomfort can lead to better mobility, less pain, and faster recovery.
Your body deserves more than a āfeel goodā massageāit deserves intentional bodywork that creates lasting change.
Have you ever had bodywork that hurt so good?
Bodywork:
ā
Might explain why your headache is actually coming from your neck.
ā
Might help you realize that ātight hamstringsā arenāt always the real problem.
ā
Might have you wondering why your calf treatment made your back feel better.
The body loves to keep us guessing. š¤·š½āāļø
Thatās why I never stop learning and why I love teaching little body facts along the way.
