Small things that can make a hard season a little softer:
Rest when your body asks, even for short naps
Gentle movement like short walks, if your care team approves
Keep water nearby and sip throughout the day
Ask your team which lotions are OK for skin in the radiation area
Soft layers, cozy socks and a favorite playlist for treatment days
Let people help with meals, rides and errands

During treatment, your body needs a different kind of care. Here's what an adapted session may look like:
Lighter pressure, since deep or strong pressure isn't recommended during chemo and radiation
Working around your port, surgical sites and radiation-treated skin
Extra pillows and bolsters so you can rest comfortably
Shorter sessions if you're tired
Unscented or gentle products for sensitive skin
Many people find gentle massage helps with stress, fatigue and feeling more at ease during treatment. Check with your oncology team first, then let's talk.

Meet Kendra, the owner of Journi, and a breast cancer fighter.
Kendra was first diagnosed in 2019 and had a bilateral mastectomy. In 2023, she was diagnosed a second time, and today she is living with metastatic breast cancer. She is still fighting, and still showing up for every client who walks through our door. Swipe to see a few of the stages of her treatment journey.
"My own journey has allowed me to walk alongside clients through their diagnosis and their journey, and to remind them that no two journeys are the same. Self-care is always important, no matter where you are in life."
What keeps her going: massage, stretching to recover from surgeries and stay mobile, her family and friends, and her faith in God. "He doesn't give me more than I can handle, and my walk is a testimony to others."
Her message to anyone newly diagnosed or living with metastatic breast cancer: "Rest is important. Give yourself grace. Some days will feel easier, and some will feel so hard. You just do it one day at a time."
This is why Journi goes pink every October.

Waiting for scan results or appointment days can be really stressful. Try this anywhere:
Sit comfortably with one hand on your chest and one on your belly
Breathe in through your nose for 4 counts and feel your belly rise
Breathe out slowly through your mouth for 6 counts
Repeat for 1–2 minutes
Finish with 3 slow shoulder rolls backward
Save this for the days you need it.

Bring these questions to your next appointment with your care team:
Is massage OK for me right now?
Are there areas my therapist should avoid (port, surgery site, radiation area, lymph node area)?
Are my blood counts OK for gentle massage?
Am I at risk for lymphedema or blood clots?
Are there positions I should avoid lying in?
Then share the answers with us. The more we know, the better we can care for you. Text (918) 995-7046 with any questions before booking.

This is one of the most common questions we get, and the answer is often yes.
Myth: "Massage can spread cancer."
Fact: There's no credible evidence that massage spreads cancer.
Many people living with or beyond cancer find gentle massage helps them relax and cope with symptoms. What matters is that the session is adapted to you, with lighter pressure, careful positioning, and avoiding certain areas like tumor sites, ports and recent surgical or radiation sites.
Always check with your oncology team first, and tell your therapist about your diagnosis and treatment so we can plan a safe, comfortable session.
Feel better. Move better. Live better.

New at Journi: C*D Add-On
Now you can add C*D to your Massage or Assisted Stretch session.
We use a professional-grade, unscented body and massage oil made with 6,400mg of broad-spectrum C*D and antioxidants. It contains no THC.
With Massage: Your therapist works the oil into the areas that need extra attention, like your shoulders, neck, back, or legs, for a deeper, more relaxing session.
With Assisted Stretch: At the end of your stretch, your provider applies the oil to key areas like your neck, shoulders, and calves, so you leave feeling loose, relaxed, and hydrated.
Add it to any session for $[price]. Just ask when you book or at check-in.
Feel better. Move better. Live better.
