I have been working on an article and need your feedback before I submit it

Discussions around the need for hairstylists to receive education on pricing have intensified recently. Many emerging stylists have remarkable talent but struggle to recognize their worth.

While pricing education is essential, we must not overlook a crucial aspect: the foundation of our profession lies in the education of our skills, craft, and experience. Building relationships with clients is equally important. How can someone with less education, hands-on experience, and time behind the chair command premium prices and dictate to seasoned professionals what we "should" be charging?

What has happened to trust, full service, consultations, consistency, loyalty, and genuinely caring for the guest in our chair? Why has the focus shifted from making the experience worth the price to solely discussing the price itself?

Having worked in various roles within this industry—corporate stylist, salon manager, area supervisor, private stylist, multiple brand educator, creator of salon mentorship programs, and salon owner—I have witnessed the industry's evolution firsthand and adapted to each change.

The most challenging shift to observe has been the transition from making clients feel beautiful and teaching them how to maintain that beauty to prioritizing profit and questioning whether clients understand our pricing. I was taught that our worth is defined by the relationships we cultivate with our clients, and if we focus on that, everything else will follow.

While we need to increase our prices based on living expenses and the costs of running a business, ensuring that we have the level of education before charging those prices should be our first priority. Adding tools to your toolbox matters, but wisdom comes from years of using them.

Stylists deserve more than just paying for pricing education. They deserve mentorship, leadership, and a real understanding of how their business begins when that client sits in their chair and continues with every return visit.

Yes, we should charge our worth. But worth is not built on confidence alone; it is built on education, consistency, service, relationships, trust, and time.

It’s that special time of year again! Every Christmas, RonaBunch, Inc. proudly sponsors a GIVING TREE in the salon, and I am thrilled to share that 2025 marks our 8th year keeping this beautiful tradition alive.

Our tree is decorated with gift tags, each listing an item needed by one of the organizations we support. Through St. Johns Cares, every donated item goes directly to those who need it most.

This year, our Giving Tree will continue supporting three incredible organizations:

🌟 The Betty Griffin House
Providing safety, hope, and healing to survivors of domestic and sexual assault—men, women, and children.

🐾 Wags & Whiskers
A rescue dedicated to rehoming hundreds of dogs and cats every year and giving them the second chance they deserve.

🇺🇸 The Veterans Council
Offering assistance, transportation, and vital support to Veterans who have served in all branches of the U.S. military.

Hosting this Giving Tree is one of the greatest joys of my year. We have been so blessed, and it’s an honor to pour those blessings back into our community. When we come together, we make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.

It’s a WRAP!! I have just finished up my 33rd Christmas Season making my clients more beautiful than they already are with their HOLIDAY HAIR. This year I was able to end it with one of my OG’s Debbie Van Mill❤️❤️
