📌 Understanding Upper Crossed Syndrome (UCS)

Upper Crossed Syndrome (UCS) is a common postural imbalance that results from prolonged poor posture, often seen in people who spend long hours at desks or looking at screens.

🔴 Key Characteristics:

Tight muscles (facilitated):

Upper trapezius & levator scapulae (back of neck and shoulders)

Pectoralis major & minor (chest)

Weak muscles (inhibited):

Deep neck flexors (front of the neck)

Rhomboids, lower trapezius & serratus anterior (upper back)

This imbalance can lead to neck pain, shoulder stiffness, headaches, and a forward head posture, making everyday movements less efficient and more uncomfortable.

1️⃣ Stretch the tight muscles (chest, upper trapezius)
2️⃣ Strengthen the weak muscles (deep neck flexors, rhomboids, and lower trapezius)
3️⃣ Practice proper posture by keeping your shoulders down and back, and your chin slightly tucked.
