Almost 10 years ago, I casually asked the previous owner, Alisha if she had any room for me at the salon. I really don’t even think either of us knew at the time where that little conversation was going to lead. 😂

A little while later, she asked me if I wanted to go eat with her and her daughter so we could talk about it. Her daughter got to pick where we went, so of course… McDonald’s it was. 😂

We sat there and talked about the salon, what it would look like for me to come work there, all the ins and outs and whether I really wanted to do it. And somewhere in that conversation, she told me she had actually already made some room for me.

So I did it!

And here I am 10 years later!!

Little did I know that I would eventually become the owner of this salon, still be doing what I love, have an amazing clientele and be surrounded by some pretty awesome women.

What started as a little 2 chair salon has grown into a 4 chair salon with 2 private rooms. We’ve expanded our walls, added some amazing professionals and I’ve had the privilege of watching this place grow and watching the women I work alongside grow and flourish.

But honestly, one of my favorite things about this salon is the people. Our clients come in for their hair but somewhere along the way, they become like family. We sit, we talk, we laugh, we catch up on life and somehow you leave feeling better and refreshed.

I’m so incredibly blessed and honored to have spent the last 10 years doing what I love, to work alongside the women I do and to have clients who continue to support us and keep this place so busy.

10 years ago today, I walked into Shear Grace with no idea where that little “do you have room for me?” conversation would lead. Most of all, all the glory goes to God for making all of this possible. He has blessed this salon, this business and me far beyond what I ever could have imagined!

One of the things that I have taken note of working with my clientele is that women are busy. They are climbing the ladder in their career, taking note of their fruit, vegetable and protein intake, maintaining relationships in a friend group that is as vibrant and colorful as a spring garden, and about 1 million other things in between. I've designed my service menu with those women in mind.

My hope is that instead of looking at THIS appointment on your calendar and feeling slight dread at one more thing, demanding your time and attention, it is something that you look at and breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that you will have some time to fill your cup, enhance your look, and prepare yourself to step into the million roles that define your beautiful life.

Your day to day might look like a rinse and a 5 minute blowdry, but the frequency of your haircut appointments will shrink down to about 4-6 weeks to maintain that cute little shape.

If you’ve tried calling and didn’t hear back right away, it’s usually because I’m with a client and giving them my full attention, or I’m here late and returning calls the next day during normal hours so I’m not interrupting family time.
