Acne is not a “dirty” skin condition.

So many factors affect acne breakouts - inside and out of the body. However, It is important to have proper cleaning practices to cut down on the introduction of unnecessary bacteria where we can.

TIPS TO PREVENT BREAKOUTS:

• Never ever ever sleep with makeup on your face.

• Always always have a product in your routine that turns your skin cells over. Exfoliating serums, vitamin a, retinoids… we can help.

• Pat the skin dry with a clean face cloth after cleansing every single day. Reusing a dirty towel to pat clean skin dry can introduce tons of unnecessary bacteria to that freshly cleansed skin. It’s like wearing dirty underwear. We would never!

• Cleansing the skin AFTER a shower removes residue from conditioner and soaps that could be instigating breakouts around the hairline.

• If you’re acne-prone, we highly suggest washing your face *after* brushing teeth as well. Fluoride can irritate the skin around the mouth and cause congestion around the mouth area.

• Do not pick your skin. Spot a pimple? Ice the spot in quick circular motions to reduce swelling. Leave them alone and spot treat them chemically!

• If you’re prone to blemishing after a pimple is gone, be sure you’re wearing SPF daily and treat with one of our recommended spot treatments. The sun exacerbates unwanted pigment. Keeping your skin covered from UV damage is essential to proper healing.

• Be mindful of any possible irritating detergents on your clothes.

• Keep a clean pillowcase and keep your hands off your face!

• Double cleanse on makeup days! No residue left behind on “cleansed” skin. Drying off with rewashable white cloths can keep you on track with this!

Acne is not fixed. It’s managed. And eliminating any external factors possible can drastically cut down on the frequency of breakouts!

We work with our clients on improving the health of their skin incrementally over a year (or YEARS) before dissecting the results. Healing isn’t linear but improvements are happening appointment after appointment.

We live in suuuuch an “easy button” culture but your skin does not work that way.

We work to restore your skins’ health…. most often when damage has been done for years before we begin. The skin has to be brought back to balance. We have to correct dysfunctioning skin conditions that are usually connected to something fluctuating internally out of our control. Healing skin takes 𝖙𝖎𝖒𝖊 and 𝖈𝖔𝖓𝖘𝖎𝖘𝖙𝖊𝖓𝖈𝖞.

If you see a BOMB before and after, plllleeeease understand the work that has gone into those results. For some clients, it’s a quick transformation. We can get stellar results in 5 to 6 months. For most all others with more complex conditions with an internal tie, it takes time!

Keep this in mind when picking apart your skin. If you’re giving up hope after 3 months, we have to work on that mindset ⚡️ We’re in it for the long haul with ya and work as quickly as possible while maintaining the integrity of your skin. We need your diligence 60 times per month at home. And a monthly treatment if you’ve got conditions to address 🌈☁️
