The number one thing I hear before every root canal: “Does this mean I’m losing my tooth?” 🦷 Actually — it’s the complete opposite. A root canal exists for one reason only: to save your tooth. We remove the infection, clean the canal, seal it — and you keep your natural tooth. And that matters deeply. Your natural teeth allow you to chew, eat real food, and absorb nutrition the way your body was designed to. No implant or bridge fully replaces that. So if your dentist says you need a root canal — that’s them fighting to keep what’s yours. As an integrative endodontist, saving your tooth is always my first priority. Because your teeth are the foundation of how you nourish yourself. 🌿 DentalMyths
For years I struggled with mysterious health issues that no one could explain. After countless attempts and dead ends I did my own research and took a leap of faith — I had my breast implants removed. And slowly my health came back. There’s no official diagnosis for breast implant illness. But when your body speaks that clearly, you listen. 🌿 That journey led me to functional nutrition, to integrative endodontics, and to a completely different way of caring for my patients. Because I know what it feels like to not be heard. To have to figure it out yourself. To heal from the inside out. And that is exactly the kind of care I want to give every single person who sits in my chair. What happens in your mouth doesn’t stay in your mouth. You deserve a dentist who sees all of you. ❤️ WhyIDoDentistry
Let me share something about Nuoc Cham that most people don’t know. This humble sauce is the soul of Vietnamese cuisine — and it carries more than just flavor. Garlic is one of nature’s most powerful ingredients, known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. As a dentist and nutrition counselor, getting its benefits into my kids is always on my mind. But kids being kids — this sauce is my secret weapon. Phan Rang garlic from Vietnam. Fresh lemon over lime. And a specific order of ingredients that makes all the difference. Simple. Intentional. Food as medicine. 🌿
We drove into the mountains of Vietnam to give — food, goods, and presence to ethnic communities who needed it. When the van arrived they were already waiting. My kids jumped out and didn’t stop until every single portion was handed out personally. 🙏I watched my children give to strangers with full hearts. That image will never leave me. This is what I want to feed in my children — not just their bodies, but their souls. Because health isn’t just about what’s on your plate. We have to feed our hearts too. And that’s really what life is about. ❤️ PurposeDriven
In Vietnam, my children bowed before our ancestors at the family shrine — heads down, hearts open. They visited their great grandmother and showed her more love than I could have ever asked for. And my little one? She got up and danced just to make great grandma smile. ❤️ Unprompted. Unscripted. Pure heart. Great grandma lit up. And I had to look away so nobody saw me cry. This is why we go back. So they never forget where they come from. .viho
Just got back from Vietnam 🇻🇳 — and my freezer tells the whole story. Fresh line-caught seafood, tamarind leaves, and garlic from my hometown of Phan Rang that scientists are actively studying for its antioxidant properties. I brought this home for my children. To feed their bodies AND their souls. This is food as medicine. This is The Healing Dentist’s kitchen. 🌿
After a month of being away, Im so ready to be back and take care of my patients!
Tonight, I’m sitting in a bungalow overlooking rice fields, surrounded by mountains in Du Gia, Northern Vietnam. The sound of nature, the scent of the countryside, and the endless green fields bring me right back to my childhood.
Growing up, life was closely connected to the rice fields. Living in the Western world now, these moments have become rare and incredibly precious. My heart is full knowing that my children get to experience a glimpse of the simple beauty that shaped so much of who I am, alongside friends and family.
Some places don’t just take you somewhere new. They bring you home. 🌾

While exploring a local fish market, I stopped at a seaweed vendor’s stand because I’ve always appreciated the nutritional benefits of seaweed. She gave us a quick lesson on the different varieties and how they’re used, and of course I brought some home. 🌿
The best part was having the kids there to learn alongside me. I’m hoping they’ll become more familiar with these nutrient-rich foods and start welcoming them into their own meals. 🌿🌊🇰🇷
We made it to Busan, Korea! Such a beautiful place with ocean and mountain view. Im grateful for the clean air that is much needed for lungs health and delicious seafood and kim chi! .viho
