That last phrase had become my life's motto. I stepped off the scale and an icy wave of despair attacked my very soul; how could I allow myself to do this to my body? How could I get to the point where I could not even shower
, tie my shoe laces (let alone get my socks and shoes on my feet), sleep or breathe properly? How am I going to continue assisting my brother, a quadriplegic, with the simplest of daily chores when the pain in my elbow increased with every effort? With my spirit at the breaking point, "tomorrow" finally arrived...

Awaken and take one XYNG; what an energetic start for every day! Morning has broken and with the sweats, socks and tennis shoes on and my iPod cranking out my music, I'm out the door for my walk. I realize that I am 55 years old and not an "athlete-in-training", so, I DO NOT walk "briskly", "rapidly" or "strenuously", I simply walk at my own pace. It's breakfast time and that means a LEAN shake with a shot of Super Fruit Global Blend. If I desire a mid-morning or mid-afternoon snack, I keep a supply of low-carb delights on hand in the refrigerator; usually hard-boiled or deviled eggs, string cheese, chicken thighs or drumsticks. Lunch time means two or three pieces of chicken or fish, sprinkled with CHEAT. After an hour or so passes it's time for two ACCELERATE capsules for some thermogenic fat-burning power! Dinner time arrives and that almost always means chicken or fish with a big salad, all sprinkled with CHEAT. The end of each day is the right time for my evening FLUSH "hot toddy". So that, my friends, is a typical day in my healthier life! I began using these wonderful XYNGULAR products during the last week of September 2011 at my sister Susan Langerud's request. During that first cycle, I lost 22 pounds; I was so excited afterward that I told my sister "Alright! That's enough!" What normal human being begins at 311 pounds, loses 22 and then quits? After another year passed and I had packed on an additional 52 pounds, I decided "enough was enough", decided to listen to my sister Susan's pleas and began anew. I followed the 8 day cycle plan to the letter and did not try to reinvent it or eat whatever I wanted; if it said "eat protein" I ate protein; if it said "take ACCELERATE" I took ACCELERATE. During the time between the 8 day cycles, I continued taking the XYNG, LEAN, ACCELERATE, CHEAT and FLUSH, and I ate fantastic, low-carb food to my heart's (and stomach's!) content. BREAKFAST: Sprinkle some CHEAT on scrambled eggs with a touch of heavy cream, ground Italian sausage and shredded cheddar cheese. Crabmeat stuffed deviled eggs. Eggs fried in real butter with ham, steak or pork chops. Now, on to...
LUNCH: Chicken thighs, drumsticks or leg quarters, baked in a coating of ranch dressing mix, with a sprinkle of CHEAT added for good measure. I love this easy recipe and I use the HEB supermarket brand of mix because it's the only one I've found with 0 grams of carbohydrate. This may be difficult for you to fathom, but I would guesstimate that over the past seven months, I have had chicken prepared this way at least 5 of every 7 days; i never tired of it. And as I have been since I began last September, I am unemployed with very little income, so I have developed an eagle eye for food value, and chicken is definitely a "food value"! For the piece de resistance, we finish with...
DINNER: What, the chicken again??? Yes, but a few months ago, I started buying Swai fillets that were on sale, four pounds for $10.99. It is so easy to throw them into the oven for 15 minutes, wrap them in a big lettuce leaf, slather some of my famous, homemade tartar sauce on them and enjoy FISH TACOS! When I want a burger, I saute some ground turkey in EVOO with some garlic salt, ground black pepper and paprika, wrap it in some big lettuce leaves and top it with some Duke's Mayonnaise and an avocado slice. Dinner is also my "big salad" meal (with a tip o' the cap to Elaine Benes)! Chop a head of lettuce, a cucumber, throw in some jalapeno slices, a can of Rotel, some shredded cheese of your choice, an avocado, some HEB Bacon Ranch Dressing and some CHEAT and you are eating like royalty! But John, what about...
DESSERT?: I will be brutally honest here, as always: if you had happened to be researching the meaning of the phrase "morbidly obese" online prior to last September, you most certainly would have come across a picture of me somewhere along the line. I had no discipline when it came to sweet treats: cakes, pies, cookies, brownies (sorry, Janet), ice cream, you name it, I devoured it. But the lovely combination of the Xyngular Products and my low-carbohydrate diet ELIMINATED my desire for sweets! Even better, I discovered the power of SUCRALOSE, found in SPLENDA brand or my favorite, cheaper choice: KROGER's APRIVA. I have made cocoa truffles and Jello gelatin topped with fresh whipped cream, both sweetened with Sucralose. Honestly, I really don't even think of having anything for dessert anymore, though. I actually made Cherries Jubilee for my entire family this Thanksgiving and never tasted a bite of it, the craving for sweets having already disappeared...
DRINKS: My drink of choice is unsweetened Kool-Aid Pink Lemonade, which I then sweeten with a cup of SUCRALOSE. I drink a lot of water and I began reaching into the freezer for ice cubes, just because they really refresh me. I would strongly discourage the drinking of any "soft drink"; talk about a lousy name: "soft drinks" are anything but soft! They are filled with acid, sugar, or other chemicals that do harm to your body and your pursuit of health and wellness. I believe that eliminating "soft drinks" will really help you in your quest for health and wellnesss...
SPECIAL HIGHLIGHTS ALONG THE PATHWAY:
Thanksgiving Day 2011 came along almost two months into my transformation. My brother-in-law Pascal (a fabulous chef!) was preparing the dinner and I knew that there was going to be at least a long table filled with amazing food. I prepared some crabmeat-stuffed deviled eggs to take with me. This was Pascal's first turkey and I repeatedly asked him if he had used any kind of sugar in the recipe; he assured me time and again that he had not. So with the deviled eggs I enjoyed two heaping bowls of succulent turkey with mayonnaise, topped with CHEAT...
Football Bowl games on New Year's Eve/Day/Weekend and three months along, I had not given in one time! I decided to prepare one of my favorite meals: JAMBALAYA! I bought the shrimp, andouille sausage, ham, Louisiana Hot Sauce, mirepoix, garlic and rotel and threw them all in the "hot tub", also known as the crock pot. Nine hours later I was feasting on Cajun goodness and absolutely DID NOT MISS the rice at all...
The NCAA basketball "Sweet 16" was low-carb PIZZA time! I found a recipe using eggs, shredded mozzarella, shredded cheddar and garlic for the "crust"; I then topped it with a layer of the HEB Bacon Ranch dressing, shredded chicken thighs that I had baked the night before, jalapeno slices, some more mozzarella and a sprinkle of CHEAT. That was a huge pizza and I ate the entire thing before halftime of the Kentucky/Louisville game was over! The next day, I got on the scale thinking the worst and to my astonishment had lost two pounds...
The day I hit my "milestone": I had been thinking that I would "celebrate" when I decided that I'd hit my goal weight. My first thought was to make a "low-carb" version of my "holy grail" of desserts: BANANAS FOSTER! At Kroger that morning, I strolled in front of the butcher's station and noticed Angus ground beef, three pounds for $5.99; I had not had any beef for months and decided that my celebration would be a jalapeno cheeseburger with tomato, wrapped in huge slices of lettuce. Of course, later in the evening I "noticed" that I had about 2 1/2 pounds of beef still in the refrigerator, so I had another jalapeno cheeseburger for dessert and delicioso! taco salad for the next three days.
