The answer is that it varies from person to person. Factors such as your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, skincare products, and how well you follow the aftercare instructions all play a role in how your results heal and how long they last.

Permanent makeup is designed to fade gradually over time, which is why maintenance touch-ups are recommended to keep the color fresh and your results looking soft and beautiful.

So proud of my student and the beautiful work she completed on her live model! This was done on Day 3 of training, where students put everything they’ve learned into practice with my guidance every step of the way.

Every student learns proper lip mapping, color theory, machine control, client safety, aftercare, and the legal side of starting a PMU business-not just the procedure itself.

This is the day where everything comes together.

Before our model arrived, we reviewed every step of preparing for a professional PMU appointment to ensure a safe, organized, and confident experience.

Here’s what we covered:

✨ Workstation preparation-how to properly clean, organize, and set up the treatment area before every client.

✨ Sanitation and safety-maintaining a sterile environment, preventing cross-contamination, and following proper infection control practices.

✨ Proper labeling-understanding how products, pigments, and supplies should be labeled and organized to meet professional and regulatory standards.

✨ Client forms and documentation-reviewing consent forms, medical history, aftercare instructions, and the importance of accurate client records.

✨ Client preparation-from consultation and color selection to before photos and prepping the lips before beginning the procedure.

✨ Final hands-on practice-reviewing machine control, stretching techniques, and building confidence before working on a live model.

Then it was time for the live model.

I first demonstrated the procedure while explaining each step, my technique, pigment selection, and decision-making throughout the service. My student then completed the procedure under my supervision, allowing her to apply everything she had learned throughout the course with guidance every step of the way.

The day ended with one of my favorite moments-presenting her with her certificate and celebrating her accomplishment. Watching my students gain confidence and begin their PMU journey is incredibly rewarding, and I’m so proud of everything she accomplished in just three days. 🎓✨
