Starting immediately, my appointment availability will begin at 2:00 PM. I will no longer have morning appointments available.

I was recently offered an opportunity that I simply couldn’t refuse, and I’m so grateful that it still allows me to continue doing what I love — hair! ✂️❤️

For the time being, through November, I will not have any Friday appointments available, and I will only be in the salon one weekend each month.

I completely understand that these changes may be inconvenient for some of you, and I truly appreciate your patience and understanding as I navigate this new schedule. I will always do my best to accommodate each of you whenever I can. ❤️

My Fridays will eventually open back up, but for now, those days are dedicated to my daughter as we make our way through her senior year. This is such a special season for our family, and I want to be present for as much of it as possible. 🥹❤️

This hair had me STRESSSSSEDDDD. 😂

Hear me out…

Stressed beyond things that were completely out of my control. 😩

The highlight application went great. Washed, dried, and applied my client’s color… and THIS is where it got real. 😳

Parts of her hair turned BRIGHT green/yellow. My brain immediately went into overdrive:

What happened?
How did it happen?
WHY was it only 3 sections?! 🤯

Thankfully, my client is an absolute ANGEL. She wasn’t upset, and we came up with a plan for her to come back so I could correct those pieces.

Fast forward a few days…

I’m the kind of person who, if something doesn’t go the way I expected, I will LOSE SLEEP OVER IT. 😂

I will question it. Research it. Reach out to other stylists. Watch videos. Look for answers until I understand what happened.

And then…

I’m scrolling through a professional group I’m in and see a post with a picture and video of the EXACT same green/yellow result I had just experienced.

Immediately, I went to the comments.

Apparently, there had been a formula change with the purple color that was causing this green/yellow cast on certain hair.

And the fix?

Wash it twice.

Y’ALL. 😳😂

I washed my client’s hair… and the green was GONE. The purple was back.

Needless to say, I was considering adding WITCH to my resume. 🧙‍♀️🤣

But honestly, this experience reminded me of something important.

I see SO many people drag hairstylists when something doesn’t go perfectly. And unfortunately, I’ve even seen stylists drag other stylists.

This industry is HARD enough.

We work with chemistry, different hair histories, different porosities, different products, different formulas, and sometimes things happen that even an experienced stylist has never personally encountered before.

I’m human.

I’m constantly researching, taking classes, watching educational videos, asking questions, and reaching out to other stylists.

Not because I don’t know what I’m doing… but because I will ALWAYS strive to be better.

I don’t expect to know everything. I expect to keep learning.

And sometimes being a good stylist isn’t about never having something unexpected happen.

It’s about caring enough to figure out WHY it happened and how to fix it. ❤️✂️

So if you’re a stylist reading this and you’ve ever had a “WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL JUST HAPPENED?!” moment…

You are NOT alone. 😂

Keep learning. Keep asking questions. Keep growing.

One of the biggest mistakes I see? Waiting until your hair feels damaged before taking care of it.

Healthy hair starts with what you do between appointments!

💛 Here are a few simple ways to keep your hair looking its best:
• Use a professional shampoo and conditioner made for your hair type.
• Turn the heat down on your hot tools and always use a heat protectant.
• Wash with lukewarm water instead of hot water to help prevent dryness and color fading.
• Don’t skip your trims! Regular trims help prevent split ends from traveling up the hair shaft.
• If your hair is color-treated, use color-safe products to help keep your color vibrant longer.

Remember, shampoo cleans your scalp… conditioner protects and nourishes your hair. Both are equally important!
