Before Whiplash, there was a corporate product-development job and a classically-trained artist who kept getting asked to do "just one more" bridal look for a friend.

Dallas. Los Angeles. Years of formal training layered on top of a background that already understood how products actually perform, not just how they photograph.

Whiplash started because the artistry didn't fit in a 9-to-5 anymore. It's still the same standard — just with a wedding morning instead of a boardroom.

The last thing we do before a bride walks out isn't glam. It's a check.

One more look at the veil, the lip, the whole picture together — thirty seconds, tops. Not because anything's wrong. Because thirty seconds of certainty is worth more than rushing.

Waterproof mascara is the obvious one. The less obvious part: setting technique matters more than any single product, and where we place setting powder changes whether "a few happy tears" turns into a touch-up emergency.

You're allowed to cry at your own wedding. Your makeup should be allowed to survive it.

Do you do a trial, and is it included or separate? What happens if you're sick the morning of my wedding — is there a backup? How many brides do you take on my wedding date? Can I see a full gallery of real weddings, not just close-up shots?

The answers tell you more than any portfolio photo will.
