less small talk, more clarity, room to ask questions, breaks if you need them, and a stylist who doesn’t make you feel weird for how your brain works

You don’t need to walk into my chair knowing the service name, the technique, or exactly how to explain what’s bothering you.

Tell me what isn’t working, what you like, what you absolutely do not want, and what your actual routine looks like.

I’ll ask the questions from there. 💜

I posted this on my story but felt like it needed more permanency.

This industry asks us to hold more than people realize.

Over the years, I’ve had clients trust me with some of the most personal parts of their lives. The good, the devastating, and everything in between.

That trust is a privilege, but it also deserves responsibility.

We are not therapists. We are not trained to fix someone’s situation. But we can learn how to recognize when someone may need support, respond without judgment, understand our own boundaries, and know where to point someone when they need more than we can provide.

For me, that means continuing to learn and finding better education for our team around trauma informed care, mental health, and domestic violence awareness.

Because this work has never been just about hair.

And if you’re a beauty professional reading this, I hope you’ll look into the resources I shared too. We don’t have to have all the answers to be better prepared when someone trusts us with something important.

At the end of the day, sometimes the most meaningful thing we can offer another person is the feeling that they are seen.

I think everyone deserves more places in this world where they can feel that way.💜
