Radical Roots Midwifery & Birth

This past weekend I attended the National Black Midwives Alliance Conference. My heart is full!

I love being a midwife, deep down in my soul!

It was a joy & privilege to convene with such an impressive assembly of Elder, seasoned, newly licensed, student & aspiring black midwives!

We are reclaiming what taken & criminalized, and I look forward to participate in the efforts towards change that we will push forward as an organization.

I’m looking forward to teaching at The Cypher Collective Learning Lab this Thursday at the National Black Midwives Alliance 2026 Conference ❤️🖤💚

We’re back!

These two Black midwives will be live, giving us a tour of their bags — showing what they carry, why they carry it, and how they stay ready in the field.

Bring your bag.
Bring your favorite drink.
Bring the questions you’ve been holding.

This is a space to:
✨ see a setup that’s being used in real time
✨ swap resources
✨ learn in community
✨ laugh, decompress, and ask the things you can’t ask anywhere else

Whether you’re brand-new, seasoned, or somewhere in between — pull up and chill with us.

The point of giving birth with trained professionals is so that if/when complications arise whether in pregnancy, birth, or postpartum, someone is there who is trained to help. Midwives work hard to protect birthing ppls autonomy so that you don’t have to choose against safety just because you want to give birth your way. More access to midwives in our communities means more access to birth with your autonomy prioritized.

A year-long investigation reveals how mothers lost children after being radicalised by uplifting podcast tales of births without midwives or doctors

i reached a milestone in my midwifery journey, becoming a certified preceptor.

since I earned my license i have attended over 50 births & look forward to another step in leadership, serving as not just a midwife but an educator in the field.
