Raw Beauty Studios

Today, a little girl sat in my chair and told us she didn’t like her hair.

It was one of those moments that reminds you just how much our children absorb from the world around them. Between social media, cartoons, movies, advertisements, and even their peers, they’re constantly receiving messages about what beauty is supposed to look like.

As parents, we have to work twice as hard to make sure our daughters know that they are beautiful exactly as they are.

To every mother raising a Black daughter: your words matter. The way you celebrate her curls matters. The way you speak about yourself matters. The confidence you pour into her today becomes the voice she carries with her tomorrow.

I want to give a special shoutout to this incredible mom who made sure her daughter left knowing that beauty is so much deeper than a hairstyle. She made sure her daughter felt loved, seen, and valued from the inside out.

Because healthy hair is wonderful—but healthy self-esteem is priceless. 💕👑
