Above All Roots is heading to the Holiday Bazaar! 🎄

We’re officially booked for Vendor Expo 17: Holiday Bazaar, and I’m excited to bring Above All Roots out for some holiday shopping! 🤎

And with the holidays right around the corner, you might even find a little something for yourself while you’re supposed to be shopping for everybody else. 👀😂🎁

📅 Saturday, December 6
⏰ 10 AM – 4 PM
📍 700 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT 06510

Save the date, bring somebody with you, and come support Above All Roots along with other local vendors! 🎄🤎

Who’s coming to see us?! 👀👇🏾

🎄

Today is World Mental Health Day. 🤎

And I want to speak to the people who are struggling in ways nobody can see.

The ones who still get up. Still go to work. Still answer the phone. Still laugh. Still take care of everybody else. Still say “I’m good” because explaining everything you’re carrying feels more exhausting than carrying it.

Sometimes struggling doesn’t look like falling apart.

Sometimes it looks like being tired all the time. Losing interest in things you normally enjoy. Needing more time alone. Going quiet. Feeling overwhelmed by things that normally wouldn’t bother you. Or simply feeling like you’re running on empty while life keeps expecting you to perform like your tank is full.

And that’s why we have to stop assuming that someone is okay simply because they’re still functioning.

Check on the strong friend.
Check on the person who makes everybody laugh.
Check on the one who never asks for anything.
Check on the person who says “I’m just tired.”

And if that person is you… please remember that you deserve the same patience, compassion and care that you give everybody else.

You don’t have to wait until you’re completely falling apart before you acknowledge that you’re tired.

Sometimes being strong means admitting that you need to be cared for too. 🤎

Random Above All Roots question…????

If you could walk into an Above All Roots STORE tomorrow, what would you expect it to feel like?

Not what products you’d want — I’m talking about the EXPERIENCE.

Music? Smells? Colors? Samples? Somewhere to sit? How would you want to feel when you walked in?

I have my own vision, but I’m curious what y’all picture when you think of Above All Roots. 🤎

You gotta teach them while they’re young! 😂🌿

The Above All Roots mascot had QUESTIONS tonight. 😭

“What’s on your face?”
“Why do you have that bag on your hair?”
“What are you doing?”

So of course I had to explain the whole selfcare situation. The face mask is taking care of my skin, the plastic bag is helping with my deep conditioning — because remember when the plastic cap is nowhere to be found, WE IMPROVISE. 😭😂 and we DEFINITELY IMPROVISE!

But it actually made me think… these little moments are how we teach the next generation that taking care of yourself is NORMAL. Taking care of your hair, your skin, your body — it doesn’t have to start when there’s a problem.

Let them see the routines. Let them ask the questions. Teach them why. 🤎

Because one day they’ll have their own routines… and mine is currently being heavily investigated by management. 😭😂🌿

Anddd another one is out the door! 😂📦🌿
Packed, labeled, shipped and officially somebody else’s problem now. 😭😂 Just kidding!
But seriously, seeing another Above All Roots package heading to its new home will NEVER get old. 🤎

Thank y’all for every order and for continuing to rock with me while I build this thing one package at a time.

Now go on little package… make me proud. 😂📦

At this point, decorating for fall is a personality trait. 😂🍂

I started with “I’m just going to put a few things that I have out”

And somehow we ended up HERE. DOLLAR STORE gave me a RUN for my money 😭😂

Candy jars filled, fall colors everywhere, decorations taking over the furniture… and I’m still looking around like “Hmm, something’s missing.” 😂😭

Please understand, I have absolutely NO self-control when it comes to this season.

10/10 will probably add more. 🎃🍂

😂🍁

Soooo… I attempted to vlog. 👀👀👀😭😭😭😂😂

Heavy on the word ATTEMPTED!! because homie does NOT know what she’s doing. I basically turned the camera on, started recording random parts of my day and hoped for the best. LITERALLY!

No professional vlogger over here. No perfect transitions. No “welcome back to my channel.” 😭😂 We are literally just winging life at this point.

BUTTTT I actually had fun with it and apparently I recorded enough for TWO PARTS. 😂

So consider this my little trial run because I definitely want to start showing y’all more than just the business side of me.

Part 1 & Part 2 coming… 👀

And stay tuned because the Self-Care Day vlog/videos are coming too! 🧖🏾‍♀️✨

Y’all just gotta grow with me while I figure this content creator life out. BECAUSE IT DEFINITELY IS HARD! I give y’all props! 😭😂

Let’s not act brand new now… 😂😂😂😭😭

When it’s time to deep condition & you realize you don’t have a plastic cap! THAT grocery bag comes through EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. 😭😂

Tie that thing up, sit down & let that conditioner do what it needs to do!

Sometimes you gotta stay connected to your ROOTS. 😂 If you know, YOU KNOW.

Be honest… who else has used the plastic bag method before? 👀🙋🏾‍♀️😂

🌿😭
