Dark, gray, or splotchy brows? A touch-up isn’t always the answer. 👀

As artists, one of the most important things we can learn is when NOT to add more pigment. Sometimes, the correct next step is removal.

That’s why I require every new client with previous permanent makeup to send me a clear, full-face photo with completely bare brows before booking. This allows me to evaluate the existing work and determine whether I can safely correct it—or whether laser lightening/removal needs to happen first.

If previous pigment already looks too dark, saturated, or uneven in a photo, it’s often even more noticeable in person. Adding more pigment on top doesn’t necessarily “fix” it—and in some cases, can make future correction even more difficult.

I never want a client making the trip to see me only to find out once they arrive that I can’t work over their existing brows.

Sometimes the best brow appointment is the one we don’t perform yet.

Removal isn’t a setback—it can be the first step toward a softer, cleaner, more natural result. 🤍

Why does being a nurse matter when I’m working on your brows?

Because cosmetic tattooing is still a procedure involving the skin — and understanding how skin responds to trauma, inflammation, and healing directly affects the final result.

As an RN, I approach every service with more than just the immediate appearance in mind. I’m thinking about skin integrity, minimizing unnecessary trauma, reducing the risk of complications, and creating the best environment for proper healing.

Overworking the skin can lead to excessive inflammation, poor pigment retention, prolonged healing, or uneven results. That’s why technique matters just as much as artistry.

My goal is never to create the darkest or most dramatic “fresh brow” photo.

My goal is to work safely and intentionally so your brows heal soft, natural, and balanced.

Good cosmetic tattooing isn’t just about what happens during the appointment.
