🚨 LET’S CLEAR SOMETHING UP ABOUT LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE.

Lymphatic drainage does NOT mean “detox.”

That word gets used a LOT in our industry, but biologically, they are not the same thing.

So let me “learn” you a little. 😉
Because understanding what your body is actually doing matters.

💧 LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MOVES FLUID.

The lymphatic system is part of your circulatory and immune system. One of its important jobs is helping collect excess fluid and substances from your tissues and return that fluid back into circulation.

So when we perform lymphatic drainage, we are supporting lymph flow and fluid movement.

That can be especially relevant when the body is experiencing things like swelling, fluid retention, or certain post-operative changes.

But here’s where the language gets confusing…

🚫 “Detox” implies that we are directly removing toxins from the body.

That isn’t what a lymphatic drainage session does.

Your body already has sophisticated systems responsible for processing and eliminating substances it doesn’t need — including your liver, kidneys, lungs, digestive tract, and skin.

So at Selah, I want to be very intentional with the language I use.

I don’t want to promise you a “detox.”

I want to help you understand your LYMPH.
Your FLUID.
Your CIRCULATION.
And how we can support your body’s natural processes.

Because there is nothing wrong with wanting to feel lighter, less swollen, less congested or more comfortable.

We just don’t need to make claims about your body that aren’t biologically accurate. 🤍

Education over hype. Always.
