Saturday farmers market recap 🛍️🎄

With temps over 100 and the wind, this is the best picture Matt got of me this weekend. He tried. His model was windblown and sweaty. So here is the Frena tank and honestly she showed up 👏

A woman came in who uses tallow regularly and decided to try the Marshmallow Body Butter. She was shocked. She said her tallow at home leaves her feeling like she put on chapstick ☠️ This does not 🙅‍♀️No, Frena is not like the other tallows out there. She is different. Trust.

Multiple men came in looking for help with their snowy beard. We have got you. Full Service is everything you need. If you know a man with a beard struggling with flakes, tell him about Full Service. This is a real struggle with a real solution. 💪

Mini kits were flying off the shelf this weekend. So many women excited to find out what their face feels like when it is fully supported with all 3 steps. I love seeing that excitement. 💃🏻

And I noticed something new this weekend…people are already shopping for Christmas! Can you imagine opening a Frena Marshmallow Body Butter or a Mini Kit on Christmas morning? You could be Santa for every friend and family member who has not discovered Frena yet. They will be forever grateful and so will I 💚🎄

There was a time in my life when I was trying to wrap my head around self love. Was it the same as self care? Did one equal the other or were they totally unrelated?

My current understanding is that self care is self love. But so is a Netflix binge. Whatever your mind, body or soul needs and then receives that is self love.

Right now as I think about it I’m starting to get confused again😆

What is self love to you?

I will be honest. It was the slowest Saturday we have had at Frena. And we still had the best day. 🌿

First order of business was escorting some shoppers to where the soap booth normally sets up. I walked them right to the spot like I worked at Lowe's. Happy to help.

I finally confirmed my favorite candle scent with Can’t Holda Candle Company. Girl Scout Cookie. Lemon coconut. It smells absolutely incredible.

I ate shrimp from B$tchin BBQ…Bomb.

I got to see my Buffalo Valley bestie and her kids, my self proclaimed god kids, and snapped a selfie with Juliana to send to my son who she was already texting. We prayed our kids would become best friends and it is actually happening. 🥹

My sister and her wife came for their first market tour. They arrived a little late and missed all the sourdough and bakery treats but got the full Oklahoma summer heat experience at 12:45pm. Pro tip: prime market time is 8am to 10:30am. Get your produce, your coffee, your puppy cuddles, your drinks and snacks and then get home for a well deserved nap.

And then there is the second photo. Maybe my favorite of the whole season. The couple holding hands. The ice chest. The farmers market bags ready to be filled. This is what community looks like and I am so grateful to be a small part of it every Saturday.

"It has rose water, lavender water, aloe vera juice, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide…"

That is where she cut me off.

"I have all those ingredients but in different products and it can really add up buying them all separately."

As a highly trained sales person I knew my job was done. I took a deep breath and just said "yeah" so she knew I saw her and the struggle.

Later I thought about the brand she was comparing it to and realized it was probably built to make money. Spreading out ingredients that work best together into separate products is a great business strategy. Buy this toner. Now buy this serum. Now buy this booster.

But Frena was made for me. By me. And I do not really like to mess around. I am busy even if I have nothing to do.

So when I formulated the serum I asked myself what water based ingredients I actually wanted on my skin and I put them all in one bottle. Rose water, lavender water, aloe vera juice, hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, beta-glucan, panthenol, silk amino acids, allantoin. A thoughtful and balanced water based serum for dehydrated skin that I created because I had crepey neck and was not about to accept that.

Another Saturday that filled my cup all the way up!

A woman walked up and told me she loves her husband's Full Service and wanted one for herself. Cute enough on its own. Then I asked for their name to pull up their Frena account and she said they did not have one because the Full Service had been a Father's Day gift. Someone gifted something I made. 🙌 And then that someone loved it so much that she came back to find me and buy more…🙌🙌 That felt cool.

Three girls we met last week came back and it already feels like we are old friends. One upgraded to a full size 3 Step routine after just one week with the Mini Kit. 💃🏻 One stocked up on body butter. 🧈 And the third and I got a little sad together about the market ending in October. We were pre-sad for ourselves and I think that is completely valid. 💔

Two women had been making their way through all the vendor booths and finally made it to mine. We had so much fun trying the 3 steps and the body butters together. One bought a mini kit and said she did not even need more skincare, she just loved what I was doing and wanted to support me. I’m honored to be seen and supported by this community.💕

This was my first week to buy a watermelon and I wish I had not waited so long! It’s so sweet. We also got onions & tomatoes. I’m pre-sad thinking about not having localloafbakery sourdough every week…it’s too sad I can’t go there yet!

We hope to see you this coming Saturday because the Edmond Farmer's Market is simply the best and we only have it for 3 more months!
