HAPPY 17TH SALONIVERSARY!!

Feeling all the feels as I round the corner of yet another year in my business. This last lap has given me an opportunity to access deep gratitude, to and for my friends, clients, and community for supporting me while I was displaced from my studio. It gave me a chance to reapproach it with reaffirmed intention and integrity, and to really cultivate the kind of environment I want to share with my clients, and beyond into the world. If you haven't visited lately, please feel free to swing by!

And for tax, here's a pic of a sweet shaggy bob I did yesterday on a lovely friend who was ready for a change. It's the Autumnal Equinox, and it feels seasonally appropriate. It's been a really crazy year.

In a week, I'll be celebrating my 17th year in business 🥳 They're coming around faster nowadays...something about it being relative to my time on the planet. Anyway, it's my favorite time of the year. Come sit and reminisce over this past lap with me! Text or email to snag one of my last appointments in the '26 book 😘

I didn't quite know how to properly announce my being back in my space when it happened a few weeks ago. Maybe it was because I was already overwhelmed, and knew it might mean responding to a batch of new emails. Or possibly because I had already been delayed so many times over this 16 week odyssey, and didn't wanna jinx myself. 😅 Maybe because it felt wrong to share "before and after" photos until the artwork and prints were hung. After all, it was Yaya that held up the great blue wall from collapsing entirely. It seemed important for her to be back in her rightful place.

Whatever the neurodivergent overthinking squirrel that was about, I am happy to announce that I'm back in the 475C Coolidge Hwy spot. And although it's hard to narrow it down to a few pictures, these ones lend a bit of perspective on the scope of the project. 16 long, frustrating weeks, filled with countless subcontractors, delays, and dealing with multiple insurance companies...But with the love and support of the best friends and community a person could ever hope for, I'm on the other side of it, with really nice new flooring.🤷🏽‍♀️ You gotta break some eggs to make an omelet, i guess. I am so grateful for all of the lessons I was able to learn over this past 6 months.
I'm also grateful for all of you! All this said, I have a handful of haircut appointments available between now and September, when I'll be able to take on a few new clients again. Until then, thanks for your patience and continued love while the dust settles. I'm ready to start practicing some of what I preach, and honoring my need for peace and good boundaries with work this summer. Love you all 🫶🏽

Hey friends! It's been a crazy start to 2026, to say the least. The past 12 weeks have been a roller-coaster ride, with the highest of highs and soul searching lows. The pipe breaking at the salon has given me so many opportunities to stay present, be patient, and examine my landscape of blessings. Huge heartfelt gratitude to my friends and family who have held me and held space for me, literally and figuratively, over the past 3+ months. Especially my salon family over at who have reminded me over and over again the value of true friendship and kindness 🙏🏽 I hope to be able to repay you someday Deena, Barb, Meghan and Kelly. Y'all have kept me anchored and grounded when I was sure I'd just float off into space.

As an ever-brightening light is appearing at the end of this long tunnel, I feel cautiously optimistic to be able to share that as long as things stay on track,🤞🏽I should be able to resume working at 475C Coolidge Hwy the Monday after Mother's Day (5/11/26) I'm hopeful; but as I've learned that the surest way to become disappointed is to have expectations, I'm not quite ready to open the books back up full steam yet. Stay tuned for an update with confirmation of dates, and announcing booking availability.

As I'm organizing my painting supplies, I glance over at this sweet ficus tree (her name is Lizzo) who has been in my living room at my home since moving out of the salon a few months ago. When I moved her, and my multiple other big plants, it was the warmest day that week- it think it was supposed to get up to 28°, but it was realistically 14°. Unsurprisingly, she lost all of her leaves. Every. Freaking. One. It seriously hurt to look at her...she felt like a sad reminder of all that was broken without any timeline or estimate for repair. But as I gaze at her today, she is well on her way back to her former glory. 🌱🥹 Thanks for the reminder, Lizzo...

Nothing is permanent. We have no control over anything in this life, beyond our reactions to things. Being upset, worried, anxious, etc. doesn't change the outcome, it only steals the peace from this moment. I'm ready for whatever is next 🫶🏽
