Multiple truths can exist at once:

Appalachians are systemically oppressed.

That oppression is real, but it is not the same as the systemic racial oppression Black communities experience.

Black Appalachians exist at the intersection of both.

And white Appalachians, while impacted by regional and class-based oppression, can still benefit from and participate in racial systems that harm Black people in our communities.
