My GWORLS!!!! We had a time at and I couldn't have asked for a better group of girls to share this unforgettable moment with. From dancing the day away to eating the best food, taking pics with our kids and walking the yard, every moment was filled with laughter, love, and pure joy. Our friendship is the real reason Homecoming was so special – these are the moments we'll cherish forever. My heart is so full LITERALLY! Many of you know and a handful may not know that on November 14, 2008 my life changed forever and I underwent an 8 hour heart surgery (transthoracic mitral valve replacement). 5 months prior in June 2008, I found out that I was living w/ heart failure & mitral valve proplapse & was given 3 years to live. On a scale of 0-72 me heart was functioning at 15 & normal is 54-74. My son was 8 & I was scared, angry, sad, anxious all at the same time. I was 28 years old & wondered"why me?" It's by far the hardest & most painful thing I've ever experienced and the road to recovery was tough. I was out of work for 3 months & was told that another surgery would be needed in 10 yrs or less & that the next surgery would definitely be open heart surgery meaning I would have an incision down the middle of my chest. After years of taking medicine, frequently visiting my cardiologist & initially praying over and over and over and over that God would just allow me to see my son graduate from high school. That was my prayer!🙏🏾 BUT GOD!! On yesterday, Dec 8, 2022 I had my annual checkup & received an echocardiogram of my heart to check is pumping function and TODAY I found out for the FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE (To my knowledge) my # WAS NORMAL, my heart pumping function is at 55!!!! GHOE 2022 is in the books! It’s always something that I look forward to while at the same time being one of my top 2 most demanding weeks of the year! This October consisted of 4 straight weeks of (what it felt like), GHOE HAIR! Miss A&T was gorgeous for all of her events and so were my clients. It’s always fun seeing all of my classmates that I’ve known for half of my life! The love shown felt so good! Y’all know this is where I started charging for my hair services! Roller sets were $10 and weaves were $20!! They were with me “shootin in the gymnmmm!!!”🤣🤣🤣 NCAT thank you for the memories!!!! 20 years ago a I became an Alumna of NC A&T SU!💙💛💙💛 I hope I’m making you proud! YOU’RE GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME!!
