Nobody tells you how to sleep after a C-section, so here it is.
On your back, support your knees and upper back with pillows.
On your side, place a pillow between your knees and another against your belly for support.
And don’t underestimate the recliner. For many women, it’s the most comfortable place to sleep during that first week.
Save this for the nights when getting comfortable feels impossible.
It gets easier. We promise. 🤍
Nobody warns you about the swelling after surgery.
But swelling creates pressure. And pressure matters when your body is trying to heal.
One of the simplest things you can do early on? Ice.
Never directly on your incision. Keep it outside your clothing, 15 minutes at a time.
Less swelling. Less tension on healing tissue. A better environment for your scar to heal.
Small things matter in the first few weeks. 🤍

The first step in C-section scar healing? Doing nothing.
No creams. No oils. Not even the belly oil you’ve had on your nightstand for months.
Until your doctor clears you for topicals (usually around week 6-8) your scar needs one thing: to be left alone. Clean, dry, protected.
It’s still open tissue. Anything you put on it risks infection or disrupting the healing your body is already working so hard to do.

Your incision may look closed on the outside. But underneath, scar tissue is still forming, nerves are still rebuilding, and fascia is still healing.
What you feel on the surface doesn’t tell the whole story.
The pulling. The tightness. The discomfort when you move. All of it is normal at this stage.
At week 6-8, once your doctor clears you, that’s when everything changes. That’s when the healing ritual begins.
