Eegee’s is a true Arizona original, especially tied to Tucson culture. It started in Tucson in September 1971, when lifelong friends Ed Irving and Bob Greenberg bought a vending truck and began selling frozen lemonade around schools, sporting events, concerts and the University of Arizona
The name came from the founders: “E” from Ed and “G” from Greenberg — E-G = eegee. Their frozen lemonade became so popular that they moved beyond the truck. The first brick-and-mortar restaurant opened about a year later, and within two years they had four Tucson-area stores

The signature eegee is somewhere between a slush and Italian ice—an icy, smooth frozen fruit drink with pieces of real fruit. Classic flavors include Lemon, Strawberry and Piña Colada, plus Skinny Berry and a rotating Flavor of the Month. As of August 2026, the featured flavor is Peach N Berry

For decades, eegee’s was overwhelmingly associated with Southern Arizona. The brand eventually expanded into the Phoenix metro area, including Gilbert, Mesa and Phoenix. Its first Phoenix-city location opened in July 2022

In the East Valley today, there are locations including eegee's at 3535 E. Baseline Rd. in Gilbert, eegee's at 3640 S. Val Vista Dr. in Gilbert, and eegee's at 1460 S. Crismon Rd. in Mesa.
