Here are 5 simple IPL aftercare tips that work well for a patient handout, graphic, or Instagram carousel:

1. Protect Your Skin From the Sun ☀️
Avoid direct sun exposure and wear broad-spectrum SPF 30–50 daily. Reapply regularly when outdoors.
2. Keep Your Skincare Gentle 🫧
Use a mild cleanser and moisturizer. Avoid retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, scrubs, exfoliants, and other irritating active ingredients until the skin has recovered.
3. Don’t Pick or Scrub Pigmented Spots 🤎
Dark spots may temporarily become darker or develop a coffee-ground-like appearance. Allow them to naturally flake away rather than picking or exfoliating them.
4. Avoid Excessive Heat & Intense Exercise 🔥
For the first 24–48 hours, avoid hot tubs, saunas, very hot showers, and strenuous exercise if your skin is still red, warm, or irritated.
