We had so much fun with all of you downtown tonight! What a lovely surprise to be right next to the trolley stop! (I didn't even know that thing ran. I thought it was decorative 😆)
We got to chat with so many lovely new people about all that Breathing Space and Sacred Bonsai offer, give tours of the studio, and give people a little AC break from the heat at the same time. This town was built around its healing spring, and to be able to be a part of such a beautiful wellness collective is really something special. It's always nice to have an opportunity to share what we do with new folks!

📣What is that tension telling you? That's the question.
We're often only attuned to our bodies when something goes "wrong" and we have pain or dysfunction. And we see that as a negative thing because no one wants to be in pain. But in all honesty, pain is just a signal from our body to assess what needs attention. It's not punishment; it's not abnormal. It's just a messenger.
Don't fear the pain, neglect the pain, or beat yourself up about experiencing the pain. It's so easy to say "oh, I have a bad knee." But this thinking reinforces to your body that the knee really is bad, and increases your pain. You assume ownership of the knee's dysfunction. What if instead we approach it with the the philosophy that yes, we may have weakness in our knee. But it's a good knee. It's climbed mountains and tended gardens. It's done so much, so let's see what it needs to feel better.
Accept and embrace the body just the way it is. Give it love and respect. Listen to its signals and heed them. Move when you need to move, rest when you need to rest.
Building a career based around helping people manage their pain has taught me that when we embrace the pain and hold it tenderly, listen to it, and make small adjustments, our bodies can respond in amazing ways.
Feel like you need a reset? That's our specialty! For the month of September, enjoy $10 off any service at Sacred Bonsai Healing Arts. Massage, spa or detox treatments, and energy work sessions are all included. So come unwind your mind and relax your body!

Then vs now.. still a very happy girl! Why am I showing you pictures of my dog? Well, apart from sharing her dopamine-boosting cuteness, she actually serves to remind us of some very important lessons. So here are today's reminders from Izzie:
🐾BE PRESENT- Dogs live only in the present. As far as embodiment and mindfulness go, we could all take a page out of a dog's book to remember how to stay grounded in the moment and to enjoy life's little gifts.
🐾BE FLEXIBLE- They are such wonderful creatures, always content to be sharing in whatever activity you are doing. They go with the flow, and rarely complain, ever grateful to be spending time with the people they love.
🐾STAY PLAYFUL- They are always ready to get excited about something. Whether it's a walk, a belly scratch, a treat or just the perfect stick, dogs are easy to please and see the world through an adventurous, joyful, and playful lens.
🐾LOVE BIG- They don't hold back when it comes to love. Licks on the face, cuddles and constant adoration and affection come so freely.
🐾BE YOURSELF- Dogs don't waste their time comparing themselves to other dogs. Some are goofy, some are protective, some are serious about their work - just like us. But dogs live their lives just being exactly what they are without questioning it, and that's a beautiful thing.
There are infinitely more lessons we can take from dogs, and I encourage you to keep this thought in your mind as you watch your furry companions. Enjoy how they see the world with such wonder and love, and ask yourself what are the ways you can strive to see the world through a dog's perspective.

A heads up to our clients who use the 401/Main St. and Academy intersection! Beginning the week of Aug 24th there will be demolition which may impact traffic here.
UPDATE, August 18: Demolition for this project will now begin on Thursday, August 20:
ORIGINAL POST, August 11:
Heads up! To make way for a new downtown outdoor event space, demolition will begin in two weeks at 101 N. Main Street. Learn more about the project below ⬇️
The outdoor event lawn in Downtown Fuquay-Varina will feature a temporary event space and Community History Walkway. Designed to be flexible, the area will host a range of Town and partner activities, including the popular Follow Me to Fuquay-Varina (FM2FV) concert series.* The new venue is expected to offer approximately double the event capacity of the current FM2FV location at Centennial Square.
To ensure a seamless transition to the site's ultimate transformation into Piney Woods Park, the Town will limit the construction of permanent structures within the temporary space.
Demolition of a Town-owned building will take place the week of August 24 at 101 N. Main Street, marking the first step toward the new community destination. The space is expected to be complete later in 2027.

*FM2FV concerts will be held in Centennial Square this fall, as usual. This space will host FM2FV after it is completed.
