It was quite an interesting week leading up to Labor Day weekend! 😅
Sometimes, it’s probably better to just chill at home and do absolutely nothing. Maybe that’s what I should have done! But with active children, it’s tempting not to give myself another day off. 😂
When we got to Broken Bow, we were all ready to go hiking the next morning… only to discover that our rental had a flat tire. 🤦♀️ While my daughter and I chilled, my husband and son got to work putting on the spare. It actually turned into a pretty great hands-on experience for my son, who got to learn how to change a tire. Not exactly the adventure we had planned, but a lesson nonetheless!
It was HOT and humid, especially by the river, but there’s always something refreshing about being outdoors and surrounded by nature. 🌿
I also stayed committed to my vegan journey, even though finding truly vegan food wasn’t always easy. Thankfully, most places were happy to put together some random veggies for me — and I called that a meal! 😂 Luckily, I came prepared with my nut mix, powdered chia and flaxseed, nutritional yeast, and my favorite salt. 🌱
Then, just when we thought the adventure was over, we came home to discover that the breaker in our garage had tripped… which left us locked out of the house! Our front door was locked from the inside with a double-latched lock. 🤦♀️
So, we drove over to our Celina fire station, and thankfully, the firefighters were happy to come to the rescue. 🚒❤️
Let’s just say our long weekend was REALLY, REALLY long. 😂 But there’s always something happening in our lives that keeps us adventurous, creative, and—most importantly—patient with whatever life throws our way.
And honestly, maybe that’s what makes the memories worth it. ❤️
