This client came in wanting to correct the effects of a previous lash lift that had begun to shift and show signs of stress. Her goal was not to create a stronger curl, but to restore a softer, healthier appearance and bring her lashes closer to their natural state.

In the before photos, you can see that one eye had shifted noticeably to the left as the lashes grew out, and the lash tips appeared frayed. While it’s easy to assume a lash lift was “done wrong,” there are several reasons a lash lift can change over time.

Lashes naturally go through growth cycles, and results can begin to look uneven due to new lash growth, sleeping position, rubbing the eyes, heat or moisture exposure, aftercare habits, or individual lash patterns.

Another possibility is mild overprocessing during the original service. This can happen when the lifting solution is left on slightly longer than the lash can tolerate, when the natural lash is more porous or delicate than expected, or when processing times aren’t adjusted for the individual client. When lashes are overprocessed, the hair’s outer layer can become weakened, causing the tips to appear dry, frayed, or less uniform.

Because I noticed that the lash hair had already experienced some stress, I intentionally did not lift the very tips of the lashes during this correction. Protecting the integrity of the natural lash was the priority. Sometimes the healthiest choice isn’t chasing the strongest curl, it’s creating a result that supports the lash while it returns to a healthier state.

Every lash correction is customized based on the condition of the natural lashes in front of me. Healthy lashes will always come first. 🌿
