It’s always important to know what products are being used when getting your hair done. Everyone’s scalp, hair, and skin can react differently to certain ingredients, and some individuals may have allergies or sensitivities that they aren’t aware of.

Certain products or ingredients may contribute to scalp irritation, itching, redness, burning, excessive dryness, flaking, scabbing, or even hair breakage and hair loss—especially when the scalp is already sensitive or the product is not suitable for the individual.

As clients, don’t be afraid to ask questions about the products being used on your hair and scalp. You have every right to know what is being applied, especially when it comes to your health and the care of your natural hair.

As a beauty professional, I believe in being transparent about the products I use, paying attention to the ingredients, and prioritizing the overall health of my clients’ hair and scalp—not just the finished style.

Good morning! I just want to take a moment to be transparent.

As a braider, I make it a priority to schedule my clients in a way that allows me to provide quality service while also giving myself time for necessary breaks. I have always done my best to honor my appointments and have never canceled on a client unless it was due to an emergency or I genuinely wasn’t feeling well.

Customer service and communication are extremely important to me, and I take pride in making sure my clients feel respected, valued, and informed.

With that being said, I would encourage those who are canceling appointments or not communicating with their clients to please do better. I understand that no one is perfect, and things happen, but professionalism, communication, and respect should always be a priority.

I truly believe in treating my clients the way I would want to be treated, and that is the standard I will continue to hold myself to.
