We love celebrating the wins our patients work so hard for, and Jordan has a great one to share! After putting in the time, effort, and consistency throughout his physical therapy journey, he can now proudly say, “I can now shoulder press more than 30 lbs!” 🙌

Building strength doesn’t happen overnight. It takes patience, commitment, and a willingness to keep showing up and putting in the work. Jordan did exactly that, and seeing his progress from where he started to where he is today is something worth celebrating. 🎉

🎉 Meet our Q3 Employee of the Quarter, Jake Magcanam! 🎉

Jake is one of the people working behind the scenes to help keep Pro Vita Physical Therapy running smoothly and ensure our patients can get the care they need.

His teammates describe him as hardworking, dependable, positive, professional, and always willing to help, even when he has a lot on his plate. One teammate recognized Jake for consistently taking initiative instead of waiting to be asked, while another shared how his positive attitude brings a welcome boost of energy and morale to the team. 💙

As our Intake Coordinator, Jake supports our clinics with insurance verification, authorizations, referrals, and intake coordination. Much of this work happens behind the scenes, but it plays an important role in supporting our clinics and creating a smoother experience for our patients.

Meet Malcolm “Mac” McDougall, Physical Therapist at Pro Vita Navarre! 👋💙

With 27 years of experience in physical therapy, Mac brings not only decades of clinical knowledge to Pro Vita, but also a genuine appreciation for the relationships he gets to build with his patients along the way.

For Mac, being a Physical Therapist is about more than helping someone through an injury or condition. What he finds most fulfilling is connecting with his patients, putting his experience to work for them, and seeing that work make a difference in their quality of life. His philosophy is simple: he works for the patient. That means listening, giving them his full attention, respecting what they’re going through, and doing everything he can to help them reach their goals.

That patient-first mindset is also what made Pro Vita a natural fit for Mac. He values our one-on-one approach to care, where therapists have the opportunity to focus on the individual in front of them and build a meaningful connection throughout their recovery.

There’s also a lot more to Mac beyond the clinic!

He’s a husband, father of four, and grandfather to eight grandchildren. When he’s not treating patients, you might find him golfing, fishing, spending time at the beach, or cheering on the New York Yankees and Florida Gators. And yes, there are also two cats in the McDougall family! 🐱

But perhaps the most surprising part of Mac’s story comes from his time in the U.S. Navy. Mac once had to eject from a Navy jet and survived the experience—definitely not something you hear every day! ✈️

After nearly three decades as a Physical Therapist, what continues to motivate Mac is the pride he feels in being able to help others and make a positive difference in their lives.

We’re celebrating Megumi Jones and her 5th work anniversary with Pro Vita Physical Therapy! As one of our wonderful Physical Therapist Assistants at our Navarre clinic, Megumi has been an important part of our team and the care we provide to our community.

Over the past five years, Megumi has brought compassion, dedication, and a genuine commitment to helping our patients move better, grow stronger, and regain confidence in the activities that matter most to them. Her encouraging presence and thoughtful care have made a meaningful difference in the lives of so many patients.

Megumi, thank you for five incredible years of caring for our patients, supporting your teammates, and being such a valued part of the Pro Vita family. We’re grateful for everything you bring to our Navarre clinic! 💙

Pro Vita Physical Therapy had such a fun time at the Treasure Your Community: Health & Resource Fair, connecting with our Navarre community and sharing more about how physical therapy can help people stay active, move better, and keep doing the things they love.

And of course, we couldn’t show up to a treasure-themed event without bringing a little challenge of our own! 😄

Our “𝘾𝙖𝙣 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙒𝙖𝙡𝙠 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙠?” balance challenge gave everyone a chance to test their balance, have some fun, and maybe discover that walking the plank is harder than it looks. 🏴‍☠️⚓️

Events like this are always a great opportunity for us to step outside the clinic, meet more of the people and organizations that make Navarre such a great community, and have conversations about health and wellness along the way.

𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙤𝙡 𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢 | 𝘾𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬

There was a point when Carol Bream wondered if she might have to give up horseback riding altogether.

At 77, Carol had been dealing with knee pain that affected nearly everything: walking, sleeping, standing, bending down, and especially riding and caring for her horses.

Before surgery and physical therapy, mounting her horse had become so difficult that 𝙨𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙣 𝙖 𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙣𝙞𝙘 𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙛𝙛.

Eventually, Carol underwent a total knee replacement. After inpatient rehabilitation, she was still dealing with more pain than she expected and very limited range of motion.

Then she began working with Kim at our Crestview clinic.
Carol remembers being challenged. Kim incorporated strengthening exercises, manual therapy, and something Carol especially appreciated: explaining why she was being asked to do each exercise.
In Carol’s words:
“𝙎𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝙢𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄 𝙜𝙤𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙨!”

And those results eventually followed Carol far beyond the clinic.

Today, she describes herself as stronger, more flexible, and free of knee pain. She can bend her knees again, take walks without knee pain, pull weeds, unload bales of hay, and handle 50-𝙥𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙗𝙖𝙜𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙨𝙚 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙙 without a problem.

And yes...
𝙎𝙝𝙚’𝙨 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙤𝙣 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙨𝙚. 🐎

But Carol isn't looking at 77 as a reason to slow down.
Her mother remained active until age 97, and Carol has set her sights even further:
“𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙛𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙬 𝙞𝙣 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙛𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙥𝙨, 𝙤𝙧 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙮𝙚𝙩... 𝙗𝙚 𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 97 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙖𝙜𝙚.”

It feels fitting to close our 7 𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 7 𝙔𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙨 with Carol.

Seven patients. Seven different journeys. Seven reminders that progress is ultimately about getting back to the life that matters to you.

𝟕 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝟕 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 | 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝟔 𝐨𝐟 𝟕 ❤️
𝙆𝙮𝙡𝙚 | 𝙉𝙖𝙫𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙚

On May 30, 2024, Kyle’s life changed in an instant.

A catastrophic vehicle accident at approximately 65 mph left him with multiple fractures, facial injuries, significant blood loss, and a long road ahead.
After emergency treatment and surgery, recovery began with the basics.

When Kyle came to Pro Vita Physical Therapy - Navarre, there were days when simply lying on the treatment table, using TENS, and icing was what he could manage.

So that’s where they started.

Working with Megumi and Bridget, Kyle began rebuilding little by little. He says they knew when to push him, but just as importantly, when he needed to take a step back.

“𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙙 𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙤 𝙢𝙚𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙙𝙖𝙮.”

One phrase from Megumi became a constant throughout the process:
“𝙈𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙨 𝙡𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣.”

A little more movement. A little more strength. One small victory followed by another. Eventually, those small victories became much bigger ones.

Kyle wanted his normal life back. He needed to return to flying for his career. And after everything he had been through, he eventually did.

𝙏𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮, 𝙆𝙮𝙡𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙩𝙤 𝙛𝙡𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜.

But when we asked what mattered most to him, his answer had nothing to do with his career.

“𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙢𝙮 𝙨𝙤𝙣.”

That one sentence puts the entire journey into perspective. Because behind every exercise, every difficult session, and every milestone was a life Kyle was working to return to.

𝘼 𝙗𝙤𝙙𝙮 𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣.
𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙖 𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙙.

When Kyle reflected on what physical therapy gave him, he summed it up in five words:
“𝙋𝙝𝙮𝙨𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙮 𝙜𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙢𝙚 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠.”
