The Hare & Crow Barber Caboose opens this Thursday, September 10! Just a few more finishing touches left to do and a little sweeping up. Thanks for bearing with us over the last few weeks.
The good news is, the price doesn’t increase if your hair is a little longer than normal. In fact, because you’ve had to wait so patiently, we’re giving everyone $5 off for the month of September!!

Hey folks, we’re getting the last few details at the Barber Caboose buttoned up this weekend. So, today is officially our last day downtown. Be sure to check out our website or pick up one of our maps for directions to our new spot just north of town. We’ll see you over there for your next harecut!
I can’t tell you how much this place has meant to me. I’ve got so many great memories and have made some life-long friendships here. There are a couple guys in these photos in particular who have had a huge impact on my life. I can’t imagine what this place would have been without Mitchell and Ken. It’s been an honor and a joy to work with you both.
Be sure to keep up with Ken as he forges a new path at Kingfisher Café at 750 S National Ave. He’s still roasting coffee and will be expanding the menu to include what is undoubtedly going to be some of the best food in the area!

The barbershop will be closed today due to a family emergency. I hope to be back to normal business hours tomorrow and Saturday.
If you need a place to get those last minute back-to-school-cuts, check out our friends and new neighbor The Bourbon BUZZ on Wall Street.

Well, the Barber Caboose is looking pretty rad!! It’s really coming together with the help of some good friends. Thank you for all your hard work Ravens Edge LLC Berry Jones Hollis Reeves! It’s so close, but there have been a few minor hiccups this week and there’s just a bit left to wrap up. So, I will still be at the downtown shop for all those back to school cuts. Hope to see y’all there!!

Today was—most likely—the last day of cutting hair in my downtown barbershop on Main Street in Fort Scott, KS. A new adventure begins next week at the Hare & Crow Barber Caboose!
I have mixed feelings. I couldn’t be more excited about moving the shop out to our family homestead, but it’s a little bittersweet to leave this place. 118 S Main St was our home for the better part of six years. And it’s where I cut my teeth as a new barber for the last four and a half years. Stay tuned as we work to wrap up the finishing details and pray we get the loose ends tied up neatly. There is a slim chance a few things may take a little longer than expected. I’ll keep you posted if I need to stay put for a few extra days.
Thank you Autumn Reynolds for taking these incredible photos 📸!

Y’all, we are so excited to make the move out to our home place in just a few short weeks! And we’re equally blessed by our good friend, Autumn Reynolds! She is so incredibly gifted with an eye for telling stories through images! Be sure to check out her work! Keep following along with our progress. I am working on a Stories From The Crow’s Nest post that should hit your inboxes soon.

Here’s a quick sneak peek at a little something we’ve been working on with Levi Qualls—HUGE PROPS to Levi for all his hard work and patience—to help y’all find your way over to our neck of the woods. Check in with us at the shop soon to get your hands on one of these artfully designed maps!!
I can’t believe I’m writing this from the Crow’s Nest in the caboose on our family homestead! We are weeks away from making the move out here and I cannot wait for y’all to see it! We’ll be posting photos here and sharing news in your inbox as things progress. If you’d like to see more from the bird’s eye view, sign up for Stories from the Crow’s Nest by signing up on our website or follow the link in our bio.
