Dallin is officially our 29th graduate, and his journey is a perfect example of what can happen when you take a chance on yourself.

He originally enrolled in our Restricted Barber Program, but during Color Week, something clicked. He fell in love with learning another side of the craft and made the decision to invest in himself and continue toward becoming a Full Barber.

Dallin came in self-taught and already cutting hair, but he was willing to take his natural ability and combine it with the systems and foundations we teach to elevate his skills even further.

He also brought plenty of personality to the school. 😂 He loves to joke around—and if he gets an opportunity to roast me, trust me, he’s taking it. But underneath all of that is a genuinely kind heart and a solid foundation that shows he was raised to be a good young man.

I’m proud that he challenged himself to go beyond his original plan. He leaves with more knowledge, more skills, and even more opportunities ahead of him.

Sometimes the biggest investment you can make is in yourself.

Graduate #28 — Frankie 🎓💈

What can I say about Frankie? He is definitely one of the most interesting personalities to ever walk through our doors. 😂 He talks A LOT, says some of the craziest things, and there were definitely times I had to pull him to the side and tell him to bring it down a few levels.

But underneath all that personality is someone who truly fell in love with this craft.

Frankie came in knowing nothing about barbering and immediately became a sponge. He stayed close to me, shadowed our instructors, asked a million questions, and wanted to understand not just how to do something, but why.

What impressed me most was watching that curiosity turn into a passion for teaching others what he learned. The more he learned, the more he wanted to share—and that pushed him to understand the technical side of barbering on an even deeper level.

Frankie is officially our 28th graduate, and I truly believe that big personality, curiosity, and passion for education can take him a long way in this industry.

Never stop asking questions. Never stop learning. And never lose what makes you YOU.

We’re excited about the start of an incredible collaboration between Hair Cuttery and The Barber Academy by Sean Casey bringing the cosmetology and barbering worlds together through education, opportunity, and growth.

We recently welcomed Hair Cuttery National Educator Paije O'Connell Florida Cosmetology Educator for a full day of Color Theory and hands-on education, with Hair Cuttery stylists and managers training alongside our Barber Academy students.

Paije was an incredible guest educator. Her knowledge, energy, and ability to break down color theory and technique made this an amazing learning experience for everyone in the room.

And this partnership creates opportunities on BOTH sides. Our students gain exposure to experienced cosmetology professionals and advanced education, while Hair Cuttery stylists have the opportunity to expand their barbering skills and even become dual licensed.

💈 We now offer a 300-hour Cosmetology-to-Barber Crossover Program with a flexible schedule for licensed cosmetologists who want to add their barber license and expand their career opportunities.

Gary is officially our 27th graduate, and from day one, his positive energy was contagious. Inspired by his barber and our instructor Ricky, Gary came to the academy eager to learn and ready to embrace every challenge.

He always showed up with a great attitude, asked questions, and stayed hungry to improve. As time went on, I watched him become even more focused, investing in a camera to document his journey and build his personal brand.

Gary is a true hustler at heart. He’s confident, outgoing, and never afraid to start a conversation. If there’s an opportunity in front of him, he’s going to chase it. That natural ability to connect with people and his sales mindset will serve him well—not only behind the chair but also in building a successful business.

I’m proud of the barber and entrepreneur he’s becoming. His future is bright.

Shawn is officially our 26th graduate, and one thing makes his story unique, he became the oldest student to complete the program.
A retired deputy from New Jersey, I’ll admit I was curious when he first enrolled. How would I approach teaching someone who had already built a successful career and accomplished so much in life? It didn’t take long to find out. Shawn was one of the most eager students in the room. He paid attention, absorbed information, and naturally picked up techniques because he was always watching and learning.
What made Shawn special wasn’t just his willingness to learn, it was the wisdom he brought with him. He built strong relationships with students of all ages, offering guidance and perspective while still remaining humble enough to be a student himself.
Like many people starting something new later in life, he wondered if he was too late. But the truth is, Shawn showed everyone that there is no age limit on pursuing a passion. While others are still figuring out who they want to become, he already understands the value of relationships, professionalism, and having a clear vision.
What started as a new chapter quickly became something more. The longer he was in school, the more barbering became part of who he is.
I’m proud of the barber he’s become and excited to see where this next chapter takes him.

Cady is officially our 25th graduate—and our second crossover student to become dual licensed.
Already a licensed cosmetologist working at Hair Cuttery, she came into the program with a goal of expanding her career and mastering the world of barbering.
From day one, Cady brought great energy, kindness, patience, and a true willingness to learn. She never backed down from a challenge and embraced every task with confidence and determination.
As time went on, you could see her skills rapidly develop—especially in short men’s haircutting and fading. One of my favorite things was hearing her walk in excited about how much more confident she was becoming behind the chair.
But what impressed me most was her commitment. Driving nearly two hours each way throughout the program because she believed in herself and her dream of becoming dual licensed.
That type of sacrifice, dedication, and passion is what separates people.
I’m proud of her journey and excited to see how far she takes this career.
