Baby Lia Kate’s Journey Thank you for being apart of our baby’s journey. As most of you know Andy and I are over the moon about our 2nd baby girl due in sept.
When we we’re in the first trimester we found out the s*x of the baby early along with genetic testing. Her test results came back 95% Trisomy 21 which is down syndrome. Which makes us the chosen ones of an angel! The scary part is the birth defects and health problems that come along with the extra chromosome. At our 18 week check up we discovered that she has a healthy heart but she will need surgery on her stomach two days after birth. She has duodenal atresia which is out of one and 50,000 babies. So thankful to find out this early so we can meet all doctors and get ready for our baby’s journey! As of now she can’t digest in the ammunitic fluid while she is in my stomach. So 2 days after birth she will have surgery to correct it. After surgery we are looking at 4 to 8 weeks at Scottish Rite children’s until she is ready to come home. We are super prepared and very optimistic for a positive 3 months. I wanted to keep this private to close friends and family. Please keep us in your prayers and positive thoughts! And we are out! Lia did good at her swallow study today! We can start weeing off the thicker! No need to come back to do another one! BIG THANKS to Yuridia at Lifting Spirits for Feed Therapy!!!!

Yesterday was a bittersweet with one of our favorite doctors. Dr. Lindsey told us Lia has graduated from cardiology! Her heart is growing strong! The PDA hall is all closed up and her ASD is so tiny. It is not a concern. Thanks to all the prayers! We are so Blessed!
