Let’s put the pieces together

Narcissistic patterns tend to show themselves pretty quickly in therapy, especially in family therapy.

The session can become about controlling the narrative, demanding validation, shifting blame, or pointing out everything everyone else is doing wrong. There’s often very little room for accountability, curiosity, or the possibility that their own behavior might be contributing to the problem.

And that matters, because therapy requires a willingness to look inward.

Something I say often as a therapist is: therapy isn’t necessarily for everybody. Simply showing up doesn’t create change. You have to be willing to be uncomfortable, hear things you may not like, take accountability, and consider perspectives outside of your own.

Therapy is not a place to soothe someone’s ego. It’s not a courtroom to prove who’s right. And it should never be weaponized as another way to control, shame, manipulate, or hurt the people in the room.

Real therapy requires reflection. And without that, it can be very difficult to get anywhere. 🧩

Another throwback that was SUCH a hit 😂🧩

Sometimes the most relatable moments are the funniest ones. This one still makes me laugh because… if you know, you KNOW. 😂

Another throwback because this one still makes me laugh. 😂🧩

If you’ve ever been to therapy, you know the walk in says a lot. You’re running a few minutes late, juggling your coffee, water bottle, snacks, keys, phone… trying to convince yourself you absolutely have your life together.

Meanwhile, your therapist is casually waiting in the lobby like, “There you are.” 😅

The truth is, therapy isn’t about showing up perfectly. It’s about showing up at all. Whether you’re the client rushing through the door or the therapist waiting to welcome them in, these little human moments are part of what makes the therapeutic relationship so real.

Here’s to another throwback that still feels just as relatable today. 🤍

Throwing it back to another one of my favorite videos because some of them are just too relatable not to bring back. 🤍

There are so many days when the last thing you want to do is go to therapy… and ironically, those are often the days you need it the most.

Showing up while your anxiety is loud, your depression is convincing you to stay home, or your brain is telling you “maybe next week” is incredibly hard. But every time you choose to show up anyway, you’re reminding yourself that your mental health deserves your effort, even when it doesn’t feel easy.

So here’s to dragging yourself there because of your “stupid mental health.” 😂 We’ve all been there… and your future self is usually pretty grateful you went.

Throwing it back to one of my favorite Jigsaw moments. 🧩🤍

It’s funny how an old video can remind you why you started creating in the first place.

I think we put so much pressure on ourselves to always come up with something bigger, better, or more viral that we forget some of our best work came from simply being ourselves. No overthinking. No chasing perfection. Just showing up authentically.

Looking back at old videos reminds me that growth isn’t about becoming someone new, it’s about becoming more comfortable being who you’ve always been. And I think that’s true in therapy, too. Healing isn’t about changing who you are. It’s about reconnecting with the parts of yourself that have always been there.

So here’s your little reminder today: don’t be afraid to revisit what you’ve created, celebrate how far you’ve come, and keep showing up as yourself. That’s where the magic usually happens. 🤍

Another throwback because this one will always have a special place in my heart. 🤍

There’s something incredibly meaningful about the moment a client who has spent months hiding behind humor, sarcasm, or “I’m fine” finally lets their guard down.

Not because tears are the goal of therapy, they’re not.

But because it’s often the first time they truly feel safe enough to stop performing, stop protecting everyone else, and simply be.

Those moments aren’t about “breaking” someone. They’re about watching someone realize they no longer have to carry everything alone.

That’s the kind of work that reminds me why I love being a therapist.

Sometimes the best videos are the ones you forgot about. Throwing it back to one of my favorite Jigsaw moments because it’s just too relatable not to share.

Working with couples definitely comes with its quirks. 😂 One minute you’re laughing, the next you’re translating what someone actually meant, and somehow everyone leaves understanding each other a little better.

Every couple has their own dance, and getting a front-row seat to that process is one of my favorite parts of what I do. ❤️

Throwing it back to one of my favorite videos and one of the very first I filmed in my new office. 🤍

It’s funny how a space eventually holds so many stories. Every laugh, every breakthrough, every tear, every moment of growth starts with someone simply deciding to walk through the door.

Looking back at where it all started makes me even more excited for everything that’s still to come. ✨

Reposting this one because it still makes me smile. 🤍

It’s funny how the content you overthink is rarely the content people connect with the most. The videos that resonate are usually the ones where you stop trying to be perfect and just let yourself show up.

A good reminder for anyone creating content: your authenticity will always outperform your strategy. You don’t need to copy someone else’s voice, chase every trend, or become a different version of yourself to make an impact. The people who are meant to connect with you will connect because you’re you.

This one was such a fun moment, and I hope it reminds you to keep creating, keep sharing, and keep showing up exactly as you are. 🤍
