• Extensions Specialist A little history about me.. As I was there go to person.
My names Sarah Girello and I am a Hair Stylist at The Hair Lounge and Spa in Federal Way, WA. I attended Gene Juarez Beauty School where I recieved my Cosmotology License. In August of 2011 I started working at the Hair Lounge where I became a specialist in Color Corrections, Design, Hair Extensions, Keratin Brazilian Blowouts and Creative Updos. Growing up I always told myself that I wanted a career that everyday I left, I loved my job. Ive always had a interest in hair and beauty, my friends and family members can vouch.. I love full make overs, as this is my art and creativity. It makes my day to see how I can impact others. I continuously strive for new cutting edge techniques and to be updated in the lastest fashion trends. In my chair, I will make you love your hair.. Know how to style your own hair for everyday or special occasions. If your hair only looks good when your leave my chair, I fail at my goal. Let’s bring back Heatless Overnight Curls for Hair! Summer heat can take its toll on hair leaving it dry and brittle.. and who doesn’t like to save time in the morning?! 😉 few tips I have learned:
Small sections 1/2” inch give you tighter RINGLET curls while larger 1” inch sections give you more BOUNCE/body curls. Now this will depend on how thick you hair is- so PLAY around and see what look you like best
I like to have my hair slightly damp on the ends after washing and use oil mid to ends before wrapping. You definitely get different curls day one two and three of the heatless curls. TEST it out
In some areas if I don’t love the curl, I may need to use a curling wand to “touch up” areas but this is STILL LESS HEAT then if I was to actually curl the entire head.
I put the ends of the curling wand in a silk BONNET cap when I sleep overnight which helps keeps the rod in place and prevents frizz!
When wrapping hair, I secure the middle of the rod with a claw CLIP to keep tension at the top of my head. To finish the ends from wrapping I always use SCRUNCHIE to prevent dents
TENSION is your friend when wrapping your hair, always wrap BACKWARDS and stay as close to your HAIRLINE with the rod and wrapping!
After you take out your curls in the morning, add a form of hold such as amika flexus HAIRSPRAY or loreal next day texture spray :)
