Does your massage therapist take continuing education classes? YOU BET I DO! This is my 5th AMTA National Convention where I attended refresher classes on the latest Trigger Point therapy research & techniques, TMJD education, GuaSha and Post-surgical support for the hip & knee. Networking with other therapists & educators from all around the country helps me stay on top of the latest developments in massage therapy so you get the best treatments possible!

I’m taking time off.
Not because I’m burned out. I love what I do, and I love how quickly Botree Massage is growing. But sometimes when you’re busy building something you care about (for 6 years), you get so focused on the trees that you forget to step back and look at the forest. So I’m giving myself time to do… nothing. No packed schedule. No catching up. No turning every free day into a productivity project.

Just space.

So here's my inspirational challenge for you. Open your calendar right now and find two days next month where you don't have anything scheduled. Then resist the urge to fill them. Put the word "NOTHING" on the calendar.

The world isn't going to make time for you. You have to make it.

Magnesium Oil: Does It Really Work?

You've probably heard people swear by magnesium oil for sore muscles—but does it actually work? Research on topical magnesium is still evolving. In my latest blog, I cover:

✅ What magnesium oil actually is
✅ What the research says (and doesn't say)
✅ Where to apply it
✅ Who should avoid it
✅ How I use it personally and in my practice

No miracle claims. Just an honest look at the science and my experience as a massage therapist.

"Do you accept gratuity?" The short answer is no.

My pricing is all-inclusive because I want you to leave feeling relaxed—not worrying about gratuity. If you enjoyed your session, the greatest compliment you can give me is to:

💚💚💚 Tell a friend who could benefit from bodywork
📅📅📅📅 Schedule your next visit
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Leave a Google review (link in comments)

Those thoughtful gestures help my small business grow more than you know.

I also want to acknowledge that every massage practice is different. Many massage therapists—especially those working in spas or as employees—depend on tips as part of their income. If you're visiting another therapist, it's always okay to ask about their tipping policy.

Thank you for trusting me with your care. It's truly an honor to be part of your health journey.

How often should you get a deep tissue massage? Here's my recommendation:

✅ "Maintenance Mode" → 90 minutes once a month
✅ "Actively training" (pickleball, golf, hiking, running a marathon) → One hour session every 2 weeks
✅ "Active Recovery" from Injury or chronic pain → weekly sessions (30-60 minutes)

At Botree Massage, after your first appointment, you can schedule ahead with recurring sessions. For example, "every 4 weeks" or the "second Wednesday of each month" so self-care becomes a habit, not an emergency!
