For my MATURE ladies ONLY! Let’s talk about it ‘cause this is THEE PURE GHETTO 🥴

We went from, “It’s a boy.” or “It’s a girl.”

To quietly realizing…
“It’s peri- - - - - - - - -.” I dont even want to type the word out 🤦🏻‍♀️.

Nobody celebrates this chapter.

There’s no shower. No announcement. Just subtle shifts in your body while life keeps moving.

Me personally, I’ve navigated business changes. Financial shifts. Identity changes. Marriage growth.

And now, at this big age, I’m learning my body all over again. Sheesh 😒, where they do that at?

Some days it’s insomnia. Some days it’s bloating. Some days it’s a shorter fuse than I’m used to 🤷🏻‍♀️, charge it to my head and not my heart ❤️

Now here’s the honest part —

I don’t always recognize myself in the middle of it. But I’ve learned, I’m not falling apart.
I’m transitioning.

And ladies, if you’re in your late 40s, early 50s and feel “off,” you’re not alone.

And to the men who love us —
We’re not trying to be difficult.
We’re adjusting in real time. Please be patient.

This isn’t weakness.
It’s evolution.

I’m at an age where people expect you to “ride it out.”
But I’ve learned something the hard way. Staying where you’ve outgrown costs more than starting over ever will.

Growth doesn’t care how old you are.
It only asks if you’re honest enough to move.

Listen, my pricing reflects my experience and the environment I provide, it’s not for everybody and that’s ok.

I’m very intentional on who sits in my chair now. If going to someone else works for you, that’s all that matters. You do not owe me an explanation.
Stop 🛑 making it weird 🥴.

I don’t take it personal where people go, but I’m only servicing work that starts in my chair, I’m not fixing another techs errors.

If you ever want to book a fresh set 💅 with me, the link is pinned 📌 no hard feelings girl.

Things I Wish I Knew as a Salon Owner

1. Being kind doesn’t mean being flexible.
Your generosity will be tested. Boundaries protect the business and your peace.

2. Access is not the same as loyalty.
Giving someone opportunity doesn’t guarantee respect or appreciation.

3. Mentorship requires contracts, not just heart.
If it isn’t written, it can be rewritten—by someone else.

4. Not everyone who wants a chair is ready for responsibility.
Skill doesn’t equal professionalism, and talent doesn’t replace accountability.

5. Over-pouring leads to burnout.
You can’t save everyone and still sustain yourself.

6. People will rewrite the story once they leave.
Be okay with being the chapter they don’t credit.

7. Your peace is more valuable than full occupancy.
An empty chair is cheaper than constant stress.

8. Systems matter more than personalities.
Policies will outlast emotions every time.

9. Closing a chapter isn’t failing—it’s choosing yourself.
Growth sometimes looks like walking away.

10. Experience is expensive—but it’s also priceless.
The lesson stays. The wisdom compounds.

If you’re in the beauty industry and building something from the ground up, hear this:
Protect your standards as fiercely as your brand.

This isn’t bitterness.
It’s earned wisdom.
