If I’m replacing a lash because it grew out… I’m happy. šŸ˜‚šŸ‘šŸ¼

The natural lash kept growing, and the extension stayed along for the ride. That’s the retention we’re working toward.

But just because it’s still attached doesn’t mean we leave it there. Consistently leaving grown-out extensions at every fill puts repeated stress on the natural lashes and damages them over time.

And this is one of the steps I’m constantly seeing skipped.

My hot take? If you’re booking every fill for 60 minutes, you’re not booking enough time. And I’m not just talking about beginners. This goes for experienced artists, too—including me.

Get your client in, wash her lashes, get her pads on, remove the grown-out extensions, replace them, fill the rest of the set, check for stickies, dry, and get her out the door—all in an hour?

Something is getting skipped. Whether that’s leaving grown-out lashes, rushing your checks, or sending her home with natural lashes you never got to lash.

A set can LOOK full without being fully lashed.

I tell my students: if you want to charge luxury prices, you have to provide a luxury service. That means booking enough time to actually finish the work.

Removing grown-out extensions protects the natural lashes and keeps the lash line and the entire set looking clean. It’s part of the service—not something we do only if there’s time left.

Your client is paying for you to take care of her lashes, not just add more. šŸ’—

Lash artists—share this with another artist who needs the reminder. And if you’re a client wondering whether steps are being skipped at your fills… you’re allowed to ask what’s included. šŸ‘€

This was her FIRST model.

So if you’re looking at this thinking,
ā€œI could never do that,ā€
She thought the same thing. šŸ’—

You don’t walk into beginner training already knowing how to lash. That’s literally what you’re there to learn.

Imagine leaving with a set you’re proud of and thinking, ā€œHoly sh*t… I can actually do this.ā€ šŸ‘šŸ¼šŸ’ƒšŸ¼

Your first set isn’t going to lash itself. šŸ˜‰ DM me ā€œBEGINNERā€ and let’s get those tweezers in your hands. šŸ’—

There’s nothing more stressful than getting to the end of your set, going through it, and finding lashes stuck together.

I’d rather spend the extra second getting a clean isolation than have to separate—and potentially pull off—all those lashes I just busted my ass getting on there perfectly. šŸ˜…

Now I’m fixing my work instead of finishing it, having an anxiety attack because the set I thought was done isn’t done—and I don’t have enough time left to fully finish it.

And on top of that, now I’m worried my client will go home, notice she’s not fully lashed, and call me—or quietly think she didn’t get her money’s worth.

That extra second of clean isolation saves a whole lot more than time.

Have you ever thought you were finished… then started removing stickers and gone into a full blown anxiety attack 🫨

If you see your client’s name pop up and immediately think, ā€œOh sh*t… please tell me you’re just booking your fill and not messaging me because something’s wrongā€ šŸ˜…

We need to figure out WHY you’re stomach is in knots every time you get a message.

Because just making a set look pretty isn’t enough.

How you hold your tweezers matters. The angle you’re coming in at matters. You need to understand how to place the extension properly so it sits flush with the natural lash—not just place it and move on.

And you have to check for lashes stuck together. Your client shouldn’t be going home feeling pulling every time she brushes them.

Red eyes can have different causes, but that’s another thing we can’t just brush off.

I know I probably sound repetitive, but there’s a reason šŸ˜‚ I’d rather spend an extra minute checking now than have my client go home uncomfortable or lose lashes prematurely because they weren’t properly applied to begin with.

Because sometimes they don’t message you. They just don’t come back. And now you’re losing clients and don’t know why.

That’s why I watch my advanced students work. Sometimes it’s a small adjustment to your hand positioning or the angle you’re placing at that finally makes something click.

I want you to know what you’re looking at and how to fix it. That’s where the confidence comes from.

If you’re reading this thinking…
ā€œOkay, this is meā€ šŸ˜‚
DM me šŸ‘‰šŸ¼ OH S**T
Let me watch you lash so we can figure out what you’re missing. šŸ’—

I am so particular about lashing every single lash. I don’t consider a set full unless every natural lash has an extension on itšŸ’ƒšŸ¼except the literal peach fuzz, because there isn’t enough lash there to attach to.

The key is knowing the proper weight and what each natural lash can hold.

Were you taught to skip those baby lashes? Let me know in the comments šŸ‘‡šŸ¼šŸ‘‡šŸ¼

Freedom looks like many different things to different people.

Yes, of course, financial freedom is always a goal. But to me, being able to live life on my own terms, show up for myself, and show up fully for my kids is worth more than all the money in the world. šŸ’—

I’m feeling very blessed and thankful today.

If you’re in a place where you’re trying to build more freedom for yourself—whatever that looks like—follow along. And if someone you love needs to hear that it’s possible, share this with them. šŸ’—
